Blakelands Country House is set in ten acres of walled gardens, paddocks and lakes, offering a unique and historic setting.
Exclusively yours, open all year round, offering bespoke and detailed weddings using two main packages. Catering pre-pared and cooked on site from the kitchens of Head Chef Richard Kenny. Beautiful accommodation all reserved just for you. Taster Experiences and Open Fun Days to help and guide you through planning. From start to finish, there was every attention to detail, the whole day ran smoothly, I felt so relaxed and didn’t have to worry about anything. The whole staff team were brilliant, the food was amazing. The grounds are stunning. The location is picturesque, we can’t fault any part of it in any way only Wish we could re live it over and over again! Thank you for making my dream come true. I honestly felt like a princess on such a special day we will treasure the memories forever. Our wedding was so perfect we wouldn’t change it for the world. From start to finish, there was every attention to detail, the whole day ran smoothly, I felt so relaxed and didn’t have to worry about anything. We booked Blakelands in May 2016, over the course of many years planning Blakelands team were absolutely amazing, every step of the way they were with us! All of our guests commented on the lovely settings of Blakelands, the food at our wedding breakfast and reception was outstanding! Anytime of the time year is perfect to get married at Blakelands, but Christmas time with the trees, the lights, open fires, it really is so magical! So thank you for the bottom of our hearts, for making our wedding day so perfect! Love the new Mr & Mrs Brophy! Our wedding had been booked for exactly 26 months. Now I’d like to just say I’m not exactly a control freak but I’m very much a person who will do everything on their own just to ensure it’s how I want it (Ocd/bridezilla I know!) but honestly from the first moment we viewed blakelands we knew this was our dream wedding venue and I felt so at ease and st home I felt I was able to let go and let the team carry on. When I say nothing is to much trouble for the team I honestly mean nothing is too much trouble, I spent many times messaging Chloe on Facebook at crazy o’clock as I would of had a bizarre idea or a crazy worry and honestly she kept me sane throughout, she was so professional, understanding and kept my mind at ease. We had our ceremony in the gardens and it was absolutely beautiful, everyone commented on how beautiful it looked, we had paid extra to have the bows on the chairs outside and o personally feel this finished the outside setting. I had Lots of decorations I had collected over the two years of planning and had no idea where to display them, I just left them in a box and let Chloe and the team do their magic and honestly I can’t thank them enough. We had 61 to our wedding breakfast where again we paid extra to upgrade to the beef. Now this was the talking point of our day, everyone was commenting on how nice the food was and how big the portions were and how much meat they were served, we had a couple of dietary requirements and blakelands dealt with this and accommodated this superbly, one of our guests couldn’t eat pork (evening meal) and without me even asking Paul had suggested that the chef would cook our guest a chicken sandwich rather than Pork. Now o know first hand a lot of places wouldn’t be this accommodating. After the ceremony Chloe took myself and Steven up to the to where the wedding breakfast would be served and honestly I felt so emotional, the room was exactly how I had imagined and if not more, everything was perfect and as I had dreamt of. The evening we had 120 wedding guests and had the hot port sandwich option which was served outside alongside the ice cream trike we had booked separate, the room was turned around quickly and efficiently from the wedding breakfast to the evening reception and the night was well underway. The team were never far from hand but were out of the way from the day as such that no one even noticed them. We booked all of the accommodation rooms out for our wedding party and this was so homely. No one could fault the rooms and there were clean, comfortable and spacious. Again everyone commented on how warm and homely it was. The breakfast the next day was served included the restaurant area and we had arranged for some of our guests who wasn’t staying st Blakelands to join us for breakfast the next day. The breakfast was delicious, even on a hangover it was amazing. Overall I cannot thank the team at blakelands enough for helping to crate our special day, these memories will last with us a lifetime. People still speak about how amazing our wedding was and I truly believe that is down to the team st blakelands. In case you can’t tell I highly recommend the team and the venue for your special day and you honestly will not regret it. I currently feel like there’s a huge void in my life where I no longer need to communicate with the venue about our special day but I will definitely keep them in mind if I ever arrange a party or renew our vows. There was no 2nd choice even if that meant our guests travelling 80+miles from where I lived. Blakelands was always number 1. Planning was so easy and the day ran like clockwork. Our wedding was 12 years ago but even now people will still comment on the beef (apparently nothing ever comes close!) The attention to detail and the overall feel of the day. When anyone gets engaged I always recommend Blakelands. I have been to many weddings since and nothing compares to Blakelands experience When I got engaged I knew straight away where we would be having our reception. There was no 2nd choice even if that meant our guests travelling 80+miles from where I lived. Blakelands was always number 1. Planning was so easy and the day ran like clockwork. Our wedding was 12 years ago but even now people will still comment on the beef (apparently nothing ever comes close!) The attention to detail and the overall feel of the day. We decided to book it straight away. That was definitely the best decision, from start to finish Paul, Heather and the whole team at Blakelands helped make our day perfect. They dealt with random requests perfectly to make sure our day was tailored to our every wish and need. Paul even managed to sort out a last minute guest who we didn't think was able to make it due to illness (and when I say last minute, we found out about 20 minutes before we were due to sit for our meal). This meant so much to us. I would definitely recommend this venue and if we could do it all again, we'd always choose Blakelands. As soon as we toured Blakelands when looking for our venue, we instantly fell in love with it. We decided to book it straight away. You can have a great venue but a rubbish team - The blakelands have got everything covered and are amazing at giving you the wedding venue of your dreams ❤️ From the silly things to the most important - they had it covered. Also a special thanks to Helen and Michelle - They went above and beyond on the morning of my wedding and sorted out my dress dilemma.. They didn’t need to but this is the kind, warming, caring People they are. So many of our guests commented on the high standard of service and food. We didnt get to eat on the evening - we woke the next day to find 2 plates of food from the Buffett wrapped up in our room, again - the silly things but just perfection. We would highly recommend The Blakelands to anyone looking for a high quality, Personal, professional, exceptional service and simply perfect.
