Hilltop Country House is a beautiful and exclusive wedding venue in the heart of the Cheshire Countryside.
Nothing is standard at Hilltop; we offer you the freedom and flexibility to create your own style. We are a family-run business and the close relationship we form with all our couples ensures that we can translate your ideas into a seamless realisation of your perfect day, leaving you free to relax and enjoy it - without having to think about a thing.
We believe that the planning process should be carefree and pleasurable. We can bring a wealth of experience as event planners and offer you as much support as you need to ensure you enjoy the whole experience.

Our Venue Hire Fee is for exclusive use of Hilltop with no extra hidden costs. Everything you need is included such as cutlery, crockery, glassware and staff, tables and chairs. We try to be as flexible as possible so that we can suit all budgets. We have a range of Venue Hire prices depending on which day or month or month of the year you would like.

- GGemma and Barry08/07/2020Relaxed family-run venueRelaxed family-run venueFrom viewing Hilltop for the first time to the wedding day itself, Clare, Martin and the team did their utmost to make us feel welcome and reassured that the day would be as perfect as possible. We really appreciated all Clare's responses to our many emailed questions and queries. Every time I emailed, Clare's response made me feel calm and relaxed about the whole day, which really is a weight off when you've got so much to plan. Martin and Clare welcome you into their home as an extension of their own family and you can really feel that when you are there. They are always on hand for questions and throughout the day without being too overbearing. We had so many comments from our guests about how great the venue was, from the gorgeous gardens and surrounding views to the food, marquee and boogie room. We had a fantastic day and so did our guests, in fact many of them have told us it was the best wedding they'd been too and that included their own!!From viewing Hilltop for the first time to the wedding day itself, Clare, Martin and the team did their utmost to make us feel welcome and reassured that the day would be as perfect as possible. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept, the house is full of character and the marquee, light up bar and boogie room make for a fantastic evening. But as great as the venue is, it truly is the team behind it that made our day so amazing. Clare, Martin, Sam and the team are fantastic. Unlike other venues where things are more rigid, Clare was so excited for our plans, and was happy to make suggestions and work with the amazing Ian and team to create the most unbelievable food for us. From our initial enquiry to our delicious breakfast the morning after, our day was absolutely perfect, and everything we wished for.Hilltop as a venue is absolutely stunning. Not only is it a beautiful place kept immaculately by Martin but Clare is the most organised, patient and helpful wedding planner! She was always on hand to answer our numerous questions, was most accommodating with our more unusual ideas and the whole day ran smoothly. They also very kindly sorted us out with a delicious cooked breakfast the morning after! We felt warmly welcomed at Hilltop where there is very much a family atmosphere. We felt very special and can't thank them enough for making everything so wonderful. Special thanks also goes to Iain for creating 2 most delicious menus for us inspired by our cultures; our Chinese and Indian families have very different tastes! He was really adventurous with our ideas and we had so many compliments on the food. So many of our guests have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to.We truly had the best day getting married at Hilltop. - AAshley and James07/07/2020Couldn't have asked for a nicer weddingCouldn't have asked for a nicer weddingFrom the very first moment my now wife and I turned up half an hour late to our appointment to have a look around the venue, muddied boots and all, both Martin and Clare bent over backwards to accommodate our wishes (including hosing down my boots without even being asked) for what has been widely regarded by both our families as the "best wedding they've have in the last decade and a half", which is no mean feat! Our wedding had some fairly extensive customisation options, which other venues may have balked at; not so at Hilltop, who actively helped with the arrangements we proposed. Additional thanks are necessary for Iain, the head chef (a true master of his craft), along with all the remaining bar and serving staff, who were all especially friendly and approachable, not to mention patient with us as the night led up to the early hours. Our only regret is that we didn't learn all their names to thank them more personally. Daisy's breakfast the following morning was very enjoyable, too. All this at a lovely location, at a very reasonable price. I was impressed from the moment Martin greeted us, and I'm very happy to say, it only got better as time went on. We're almost sad we can't get married there again! It was simply a perfect day, and we couldn't ask for more. It’s a family run business and you really feel welcomed by every member – its a lovely, seamless dynamic. Clare and Martin were simply wonderful from the start to the end. The made the experience fun and took away any stress – this came through in the relaxed nature of the wedding. We were concerned that it would be cold in the marque having it at the start of January but I can assure you that this was not that case – the temperature was spot on. Iain cooked a fantastic meal, you wouldn’t have known that he was doing it on mass, every piece of lamb was perfectly pink and we got so many compliments. They also catered amazingly for those who are vegan (again multiple compliments about the vegan curry) and those with food allergies. The bar staff were super friendly and it was a big bonus them being able to make proper cocktails including decaffeinated expresso martinis for those who treasure their sleep! The boogie room worked perfectly as it allowed the elder generation to chat in the marque meaning that they stayed to the bitter end. A handful of us were able to stay over at the venue meaning those with children could put them to bed in the knowledge that they would be safe whilst they continued to party. It was an added bonus having breakfast with those who stayed over allowing us to reminisce about the night before. One added benefit was Martin giving us a memory stick at breakfast with additional photos that he had taken throughout the day to tide us over until we get the official photos. The planning process should be as fun and exciting as the wedding day itself - we are here for any help our couples' need, no question is too big or small. Also - celebrate at every opportunity along the way!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Personal touches are what it is all about. We love to see everything from bespoke cocktails to family 'Bake Off' pudding buffets to handmade decorations by the Bride and Groom.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We were so honoured to be chosen by Jason Kenny and Laura Trott for their wedding, and we have been lucky enough to host many celebrity guests such as Frank Skinner, Denise Welsh, Tim Healy, Charlie Simpson, the band JLS and Chris Hoy, to name but a few!
What’s your favourite canapé?
The classic Mini Yorkshire Pudding with Roast Beef and Horseradish.

Who can resist a warm Bacon Roll or Hot Chocolate with marshmallows?!
