Description

Our beautifully restored 14th century Tithe Barn, with its heated flooring, staffed bar, gallery area and exposed beams has natural light pouring into the barn through large windows. Overlooking Symondsbury Estate and beyond, the Tithe Barn is a truly wonderful place to celebrate your wedding. We believe that every wedding is unique, and with the flexibility offered by the Tithe Barn, you'll be free to conjure up any imaginative theme or atmosphere that suits your personality and preferences by dressing the venue entirely as you wish. So whether you are planning an intimate gathering or something more lavish, its flexible style can be adapted to suit. We are licensed to conduct Civil Ceremonies and Partnerships. The Barn has the capacity to seat up to 130 guests, cloakroom facilities with disabled access and a catering area for our catering partners, headed up by Nick Holt at Dorset Fine Dining. The idyllic garden creates a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making for a romantic area for drinks and canapés whilst gathering to celebrate your special day. The wooded area is the perfect spot to take photographs of your magical reception, forging memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.

We got married here in October 2016. It was the most perfect day, Amy was brilliant and everyone had a really lovely relaxed day. The venue is so pretty and lends itself to any style you choose and having the garden as well for games etc was great. Also having the holiday homes to rent really made it easy for our guests and us. We were married at the Tithe Barn in Symondsbury on 5th May 2018, and I don’t think we could have ever dreamt of a more perfect day. The venue itself is just stunning and we decorated it simply with flowers and fairy lights. We were lucky as the sun shone all day and we were also able to enjoy the outside space all day and into the evening. The suppliers they use and recommend and incredible too; our food was delicious and the decorations were spot on. Amy and the team in the build up and during the weekend couldn’t have made it any easier and stress free. They know exactly what they’re doing and everything ran like clockwork with smiley happy faces too. We didn’t worry about a thing and simply enjoyed the most perfect day. I want to say the biggest thank you to you all at Symondsbury, but particularly to Kirsten! Kirsten helped to make our wedding day utterly perfect! She worked unbelievably hard. We are so truly grateful. We feel so blessed that we were able to have our wedding at such a beautiful venue. It exceeded all of our expectations! Absolutely incredible day!! I (we!), just wanted to drop you a message to say just how amazing everything went on Saturday. The barn looked beautiful, the bar staff were excellent, and all-round a great day was had by all! Sarah - you were an absolute star. You really were. You kept me calm, made sure everything flowed, did my buttonhole flower thing! and just were fantastic. We are so happy we chose Symondsbury for the wedding, and I pretty much cry everytime I think about it, or see a new photo. Such a stunning venue! Been to two weddings here and did a photo shoot and every time I have visited it’s been perfect. Staff really amazing and the venue itself is so adaptable; you really can make it into whatever style of wedding you’re looking for! Certainly a top venue in Dorset!Such a stunning venue! We got married at the Tithe Barn last weekend. It was an amazing venue and the team at Symonsbury, especially Amy, did everything they could to make the day so special and go without a hitch. Very easy team to work with. It was a perfect size for our 90 guests and was decorated beautifully with fairy lights and laterns from Taddle Farm tents. If you are looking for a beautiful, relaxed venue with character, this is the place for you. Thank you so much!!!We got married at the Tithe Barn last weekend. Relax! Wedding planning can be really stressful and so the best tip we can offer would be to try to enjoy every aspect of it and don't get too caught up in small details.The day itself will fly by so it's important to spend time with your family and friends and take it all in.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

We've seen loads of amazing personal touches including home-made honey from the couples father's bee hive as wedding favours, hand made felt animals for each table, old family wedding photo's as table markers and so many more unique ideas.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Colmer's Hill is a local landmark which makes an incredible back drop for wedding photos - really dramatic and beautiful. We also have an abundance of wild flowers around the venue depending on the time of year.

That would be telling!

Our catering partners offer a huge range so it would be hard to pick but we're mad about their tapas options.

We have a long let period giving our couples the entire day before to decorate and set up with no time pressure ensuring they are relaxed and can enjoy the process.

We love the flexibility we're able to offer, couples are able to really make the Barn their own with decorations and personal touches.
