It's difficult to say as I photograph a lot of very creative weddings but probably the most memorable in terms of theme has to be a game of thrones style medieval wedding, in a castle in North Wales, that I photographed one October. It was probably my dream wedding - Pumpkins everywhere!
Natural, Fun, Unconventional, Personal, Modern
The relationships I've been able to form with my past couples. It's not just a business for me. I've made a lot of great friends through doing what I love.
Don't get caught up in perfection - Your wedding is yours and nobody else's, so try not to compare or get soaked up in pinterest too much. Go with the flow. It may rain - that's okay - your dress might get a bit dirty - that's okay too.. In fact, some of my favourite photos of couples are the ones where unexpected things happen and the best kind of photographs are the ones where you're just being you.
I did an outdoor hand fasting ceremony and as the bride was Welsh and the groom Scottish, they used two pieces of different kinds of fabric, one fabric from Wales and one from Scotland. There were also lots of details during the reception that went with the Scottish/Welsh theme.
If you're close by, we'll meet for a hot drink and maybe some cake and get to know each other better. I think it's more important to know whether we get a long really well and whether my style is right for your big day before we get talking about booking. If you're long distance, we'll chat over the phone, skype or email whichever is comfortable for you and get to know each other that way. About a month before the big day we'll arrange to meet or chat over the phone again, usually I like to use this time to visit the venue with you. This is so we can discuss the timeline of the day, your group shot list and also look around the venue so I'm aware of where everything is happening. After the wedding you'll receive a few sneak preview images and then an online gallery of all the edited images upto 4 weeks after the big day so you can share them with your guests before the USB arrives.
Just allow more time for the two of you to have photos taken alone, as this time goes so quick usually and if we're taking them after the ceremony the guests typically like to wander over to us and start taking their own photos/directing themselves which eats into our time. I often advise to have some more portraits of you both taken in the evening after dinner to make up for this, especially if there's a good sunset! And you're usually more relaxed by this point.
It involved swords and a Druid in Glastonbury Abbey!
Embrace it! Have some clear umbrellas at the ready as rain can make for some amazing wedding photos. I've done lots of them!
I've been taking photos since I was about 7 or 8. It had always been a hobby, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I kinda fell into weddings about 8 or 9 years ago and enjoyed them a lot more than I thought I would, and now I'm absolutely in love with them.
