This beautiful and imposing family home has been granted a licence to hold civil wedding ceremonies, enabling the bride and bridegroom to enjoy their wedding and reception at the same idyllic venue. At Avington we only offer exclusive use, so it really is yours for the day. Approach through wrought iron gates, down the lime tree avenue alongside the River Itchen and sweep round to the elegant façade. Guests may be greeted in the magnificently painted hall, where in winter, log fires will offer a warm welcome. In summer, extensive lawns provide a wonderful setting for a drinks reception before sitting down for the wedding breakfast. The library and conservatory together will seat 100 people comfortably for a formal meal. Larger parties can accommodated by using a marquee off the library. This glorious venue provides unique opportunities for photographs both inside and out – a photographer’s dream!
