Particular features of this venue are the extensive grounds and gardens, with their ancient trees and lovely old-fashioned roses, the unusual Summer House, originally a "Brew House" which has a huge, stone fireplace as well as electricity and other services, and also the lake, which is a haven for wildlife with rare black swans, guinea fowl and ducks. The lake has a pretty jetty, a perfect location for waterside pictures. The stone steps of the main house are excellent for group family photographs and lead down to large, flat lawns. Barnston Lodge has featured in several TV and film dramas including Lovejoy and is available for hire as a film location.
