Cantley House Hotel and barn, set within 50 acres of stunning countryside, is a warm and welcoming Berkshire wedding venue located on the outskirts of Wokingham and just a short distance away from Reading, Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead. Cantley House Hotel is a privately owned, 38 bedroom boutique hotel that offers everything you could need for your special day.
As the former home of the Marquis of Ormonde, the property has a grand yet homely feel with quirky and eccentric surprises at every turn. Whether you are looking for a venue for a small and intimate wedding reception or a larger more elaborate event our unique and enchanting property has an array of function facilities to suit every taste and budget; from the original suites of our classic Victorian manor house to our distinctive 17th century barn, we even have the capacity to house a marquee on our impressive lawns - perfect for those weddings where a larger capacity is required.

- DDom and David20/01/2020It was amazing !!It was amazing !!Had a perfect ceremony/reception evening/night stay then breakfast ! Staff were lovely helped with everything I could ask them anything and they were already on top of things. Very professional. Can’t thank them enough. Venue was everything I could of asked for. I did choose to stay in one of there newer larger suits rather than the bridal suit but that was for the extra room to get ready in the morning. Thank you so much ! Can’t believe it has nearly been a year already. Had a perfect ceremony/reception evening/night stay then breakfast ! From the first time we visited and met with Nadia in particular, we knew we were in safe hands and could trust them to help organise our special day. Nadia was fantastic with the organising and planning and was able to organise meetings to fit around our busy work schedules, She was also always available to answer my numerous questions promptly by email. On the day itself, the staff were fantastic. A special mention goes to Dianne and Nadia, nothing was too much to ask and they went above and beyond to make sure everything went to plan. The food was delicious and we had many compliments from our guests. The Briar was the perfect space for the intimate wedding breakfast and the ceilidh we wanted. The accommodation was fantastic too and many of our guests who stayed before and after the wedding have said to me how lovely the rooms were. We are so glad we picked Cantley House and I would thoroughly recommend it as a hotel and wedding venue. We had our wedding reception here back in October. The whole day was wonderful and we felt so well looked after. Lara supported us in all of our planning for the day and both her and Dianne did a great job looking after us during the wedding. All the other staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful - special thanks to Jake and Bonnie who were amazing in the evening and took care of all of us, following on from Dianne who was fantastic and who we felt so at ease with. The staff here are great, and the food was amazing!We had our wedding here and couldn't have been happier with our venue choice. The whole day was wonderful and we felt so well looked after. The wedding staff Nadia, Lara and Diane are both polite and very professional to both their brides, grooms and suppliers of which I am one. Cantley House has regular evening supplier showcases so brides and grooms can see the barn set and talk to suppliers. The hotel has a wonderful barn and the main part of the hotel is lovely. It also has beautiful gardens and a courtyard outside the barn. Cantley House is a true gem in the centre of Wokingham.I am delighted to recommend Cantley House Hotel in Wokingham. We have had a variety of weddings here, from small intimate weddings of only 4 people to very large weddings over 120 people. I don't have a favourite as each one is so different and unique in their own special way.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try not to stress over the small things. It is the people around you that make the day special.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I love home made decorations that bring out the couples personalities, it makes a wedding unique an memorable.

Rustic, homely, historic, friendly, beautiful.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The lawns, the fountain, the pond, the courtyard with festoon lighting or the surrounding Cantley Park fields that are the perfect spot for artistic photos.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes (we cannot reveal their names)
What’s your favourite canapé?
We have a variety of sweet and savory canapes. I personally love the Angus beef sliders and the Chargrilled Halloumi, and to finish it off I love a strawberry cheesecake pot!

What is your venue's most unique feature?
We are a barn and a hotel, which means we have the luxury of accommodation and a beautiful converted barn.
