Folly Farm Centre is an environmentally sustainable, countryside wedding venue nestled in the heart of a 250-acre nature reserve, yet conveniently located just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath.
As one of Somerset's hidden gems, 'Folly' as it is affectionately known, offers peaceful seclusion and the most breath-taking views across Chew Valley Lake and the Mendip Hills; an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Surrounded by wildlife and ancient woodlands, Folly Farm is perfect in every season; from the carpets of spring bluebells and wildflower meadows of summer, to the golden tones of autumn and the dramatic winter skies, the backdrop for your day is sure to be beautiful.
All weddings at Folly Farm include exclusive use of the entire venue, including all of the 18th-century farm buildings, for a unique and completely private celebration. Invite close family and friends to arrive the day before the wedding and share the fun of decorating and personalising the venue, followed by a pre-wedding evening meal.
Hold your ceremony outside with you and your guests overlooking Chew Valley lake and the hills beyond, or amongst the apple tress with guests seated on hay bales in the pretty orchard. Inside options include the charming, oak-beamed converted barn, the traditional Old Dairy, or the glass-roofed atrium. There's plenty of space for marquees too.
The 20 farmhouse-style bedrooms accommodate up to 56 guests and, in the warmer months, additional guests have the option of camping in the paddock. The happy couple can spend the first night of married life in our spacious bridal suite or may choose to hire a bell tent for a night of glamping! Folly Farm can hold up to 150 evening guests.
Food is incredibly important at Folly, so couples can choose from a traditional three-course meal, relaxed platters, a hog-roast and everything in between!
Owned and managed by Avon Wildlife Trust, all profits are gift-aided back to the Trust to protect local wildlife.

Clare, Andrea and the team were amazingly helpful in planning our wedding and on the actual weekend, went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that we could relax and enjoy the day. The venue itself is beautiful and allows you the freedom to put your own stamp on the decorations and having the opportunity for our friends and family to stay for the whole weekend made the celebrations really special. The food, from Thyme Chef (Folly's recommended caterers) was incredible, including breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday, and we are still getting feedback from our guests about how much they loved it!! Tony, Andrea, Clare and the rest of the team were so helpful and friendly. In the planning stages they were always available to answer our many questions, and during the wedding itself they worked so hard to make sure everything ran smoothly. It was very reassuring and relaxing to know that they were organising everything behind the scenes, and the day was even better than we could have imagined. It was great to have the freedom to get married outside, and decorate the venue to make it really personal. The fact that so many of our guests could stay or camp for the weekend made it really relaxing, and the food from Thyme Chef was also fantastic. It was really important for us to have an environmentally sustainable venue and it's great to know that the profits go back into supporting the nature reserve and the Avon Wildlife Trust. A massive thank you to everyone at Folly Farm and we look forward to coming back and visiting regularly!We got married at Folly Farm and it was a wonderful experience. A wonderful venue in stunning setting! The venue offered so much flexibility, the opportunity to entertain as if it was your own home, a safe environment for children to enjoy with freedom to do their own thing. The wedding day itself was nothing less than perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the team. Special thanks from me to Claire who went above and beyond to ensure everything was just so.... including delivering breakfast and getting my daughter through an emotional outburst in seeing her children dressed ready for the event. From the moment we booked Folly Farm, we felt at ease. Folly Farm is the most beautiful, laid back venue, and we couldnt have wished for anything better and more suitable for us. And to everyone at Thyme Chef, you helped us throughout, even when I did keep changing my mind. Everyone said the food was amazing and there were lots of comments on how kind all the staff were, so thank you! As you know, when we arrived, we had a lot of stuff, as I had the day pictured in my head from the very start. Everyone enjoyed it so much, and the outdoor games were enjoyed by all. Both Folly Farm and Thyme Chef are so much more than a venue and caterers, you have helped plan throughout, and feel more like friends than suppliers.Firstly we would like to say a massive thank you! The venue was simply lovely, although ladies do need to be warned about the steep steps to/from the car park which aren’t ideal for fancy heels ;) Birds and dragonflies swooped and flitted about and added a whimsical touch to the day. Highly recommend venue to prospective couples and for other events.Fortunate enough to attend a wedding here which was blessed with good weather for an outdoor ceremony overlooking the stunning views of the rolling countryside. There were a number of reasons we chose this as our venue, the setting is one of them, but its ties to the Avon Wildlife Trust; its environmentally-focussed ethos and the flexibility we were afforded in being able to have the entire venue for the weekend were among the others. We both felt very privileged to have been able to get married at a venue as special as Folly Farm and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for all of their help and assistance. Right from our first viewings and throughout our meetings, to the on the day preparations and delivery - everyone was to helpful, enthusiastic and positive. Nothing was too much trouble or too big a problem. The whole weekend went so smoothly and this was down to the team. We were fortunate enough to be able to have our ceremony outside, in the courtyard overlooking the Lake. There are a variety of other locations around the venue which are licensed for weddings, and you are free to choose a spot which is the best for your wedding size and needs - the team at Folly Farm go out of their way to ensure everything looks stunning. We have had so many compliments on the venue, the food and the overall service, both on the day and since we have been married.
