A truly unique 450 year old Grade II listed barn wedding and event venue in Norfolk, combining history and magnificence with a wonderful rural setting.
Licensed for wedding ceremonies, so you can hold your whole day at Godwick. Contemporary facilities, posh loos, modern kitchen and reception area with a bespoke bar. A large entertaining space that can seat up to 160. The barn has huge oak beams and high pitched roof which are amazing to look at, but also result in great acoustics for music and entertainment.
A “blank canvas” venue that can be tailored to suit your own requirements with plenty of outside space for entertaining, garden games and outside ceremonies.
We offer three day hire packages with the wedding on the Saturday or a cheaper midweek option on a Wednesday.
Arrive the day before to add your design flair and customise the venue. Party hard on your wedding day, safe in the hands that our experienced team will look after you. Leave the day after once you have dusted off the hangover and cleared your stuff away.
We have a a choice of ceremony locations inside the Barn or opt for an outside duo-ceremony. On site we have luxurious accommodation for upto 22 guests at nearby Godwick Hall, with seven fabulously different bedrooms and three Shepherd’s Huts in the Hall grounds. Camping pitches are available at Godwick Great Barn for the wedding night.
We offer our own in-house Godwick bar or you can supply your own alchohol with no corkage charge. You can choose your own caterers and we will recommend you a whole host of local suppliers that we know and love and trust at Godwick.
Flexibility and a professional and friendly service are our key mantras, so we encourage you to design your own wedding with us on hand to help you along the way.
Our wonderful outside spaces and ancient landscape provide a host of stunning photo opportunities. Godwick has never been an ordinary venue. Quirky, eccentric, but always wonderfully glorious.

- LLucy and Simon02/01/2019Amazing!Amazing!I don't think there are enough words I can use to describe how incredible this venue really is. We had planned to see a few different venues but as soon as we walked in we knew Godwick was the one for us. The setting is just gorgeous and is a blank canvas with plenty of scope for creativity. We loved that we were able to get married outside over looking the Godwick ruins, and the hay bales and tractor ride gave it that little extra Norfolk touch we wanted our guests to experience. As well as the barn we hired the hall and the three shepherds huts and we are so glad we did. The hall is amazing with a swimming pool and a games room. We had so much fun setting up on the Tuesday and going back to the hall all spending time together. It was like a mini holiday and a really special part of our wedding. The shepherds huts are so beautiful. We chose to stay in one on the night of the wedding and waking up as mr and Mrs to that gorgeous view was amazing. Another thing that makes Godwick such a great venue is the staff. Kevin, Amy, Senga and team are so passionate about their venue and really can't do enough for you. Kevin was always happy to answer emails with silly questions and show us around the venue whenever we wanted to see it. Amy was an absolute star on the day before and day of our wedding. She really put me at ease and made sure everything ran smoothly. It also helps that they are both such lovely people. Having a consultation with penny of the little lending company was invaluable! We got some great ideas from her and ended up hiring quite a lot of her collection. Godwick was the best choice we ever made! It was the best day of our lives and we really can't thank you all enough for everything you did for us! We loved the gorgeous barn, sheep in the fields and the ruins; it's the perfect location for a Norfolk wedding. Whilst finding all your own suppliers for your wedding may appear daunting, the staff at Godwick were so supportive and were able to advise and help us plan the perfect day right from the start. We were also able to enjoy some wonderfully quirky aspects of our day at Godwick. Being driven to the barn on the back of a tractor was just amazing. I remember looking at my Dad who was with me, he just couldn't believe it. We also had a tractor ride up to the ruins by ourselves after lunch to have some photographs taken and this was a truly special part of our day as it was just the two of us. Being able to stay at the Hall made our weekend even more magical. The rooms are beautifully decorated and getting ready the morning of the wedding and waking up there a married couple was wonderful. So many of our guests commented during the day how wonderful the venue was and the day couldn't have been more perfect. We had a truly memorable day and would like to thank everyone at Godwick. From the very first visit last year the team at Godwick have been fantastic. They have a wealth of knowledge they are happy to share whilst still giving you the freedom to make the venue exactly how we wanted it. The Barn is beautiful and we then had a Tipi on the lawn for the reception. Everyone we dealt with in terms of suppliers that were recommended by Godwick were fantastic. We used the hall and the shepherds huts for 2 nights. The huts are great fun and really unique. The hall is a stunning place to stay with great rooms and amazing facilities. The team there were flexible and let me create my vision of an enchanted forest style wedding (I installed enormous trees and everything!). Not only is the barn beautiful, with gorgeous views of the Godwick ruins, the team were incredibly helpful too. The perfect package. Their package offer of an hours styling planning with Penny, their Freelance Creative Director, sparked a wonderful creative relationship. Penny literally helped make my dreams a reality. Kevin made us feel instantly relaxed as soon as we met him and was enthusiastic from start to finish (even when we sent him on a wild beer hunt to stock his bar). We also hired out the hall and shepherds huts on a self catered basis, which were beautiful and run by the team to perfection. All the guests commented on how amazing it all looked. We went back to Godwick a few days after the wedding and it was very emotional, we are sad that we won’t be seeing the team and venue regularly anymore. I think we will be ordering Godwick turkeys for Christmas to keep the link alive! James, Kevin, Penny, Sue, the whole team, thank you for everything. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Mine! No but seriously we have had loads of amazing weddings at Godwick, but how could I not say my own. We really did have an amazing autumn wedding in October 2015. We wanted to have a big old fashioned knees up, with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. I had some large rustic trestle tables made and these provided a fabulous communal banquet with large sharing platters and copious amounts of wine. We had great live music throughout the day, a wonderful ceremony, a big banquet dinner and then loads of dancing to a fabulous band, all set in my own wedding venue with all my family friends, what more could you want.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
I'm a big believer in working out what your theme is and how you want your day to feel, what will the vibe be like? For us, we spent a long time figuring out our theme, which was based around a strong autumnal colour pallette, and a rustic, country feel with lots of tweeds and textures. We combined these with our desire to create a relaxed and informal event and ensured that our theme ran through the whole event from the stationary we had designed to the clothes we wore, to the styling of the venue and even the menu itself. I think this really helps an event hang together and the guests get a real sense of what your wedding is about. Of course, you need to choose a great venue, and one like Godwick that is flexible and customisable!!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We have had some wonderful, creative and stunning wedding arches for outside ceremonies, I love these.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The ruins of Godwick All Saints provide an amazing back drop to any wedding photography.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes we have had a few well known faces as guests, including Ireland rugby captain Rory Best. BBC London weather girl and presenter Wendy Hurrell also got married at Godwick and we have a super famous social media star getting hitched with us this summer, but as always we would never reveal their name, until after their wedding of course!

What is your venue's most unique feature?
We have a few unique features, but I guess our own vintage tractor, which acts as bridal transport from Godwick Hall to the Great Barn and takes couples to the ruins for photos is pretty unique. The venue itself is one of a kind and we love it for that.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
My team are an amazingly hard working bunch who are as passionate about Godwick as I am!
