The bespoke option
To provide you with a truly bespoke wedding at this stunning setting, we charge a venue hire fee of £6840 (inclusive of VAT).
This venue hire includes:
• Exclusive use of Hoghton Tower, its two courtyards and its three walled gardens, with time to set up any personal requirements. The venue hire starts at midday the day before your wedding for set up.
• Tables, chairs, cake stand and easels
• Open log fires in all rooms
• Fully licensed bar with staffing
• Free onsite parking
• Services - Duty Manager, car parking attendants and security support
You can then choose one of our trusted caterers who can provide you with sample menus and discuss your personal requirements depending on your budget and personal tastes. To further support you in planning your wedding day we can put you in touch with some of the best florists, photographers and musicians in the area, so that your special day is designed perfectly for you and your budget. This option gives you the freedom to create the wedding day if your dreams!

Not only is the tower breathtakingly beautiful it is completely unique. We have never seen anywhere so spectacular, it is magical when you turn up the drive and see it sitting at the top of this hill. The team at Hoghton couldn’t have done enough for us from the first appointment until after the wedding, so attentive, patient and made us feel so at ease and confident that everything was taken care of. From recommendations, advice and listening to all of my questions (And there were a lot!) they where all nothing short of wonderful. We cannot recommend this magnificent venue enough, you will not be disappointed. Our day was completely perfect in every single way, and ALL of our guests said they had never seen a venue like it. While the setting speaks for itself - what really sold it to us was the support of the team at Hoghton Tower, from the staff & volunteers - to the de Hoghton family themselves - they cared about the day we wanted to have. No stuffy sit down and set-packages to look over, just personal conversations to get to know us and explain how we could use the Tower to meet our needs. The team allowed us to build some unique features into our day. It was important to us that our guests didn't just see the history, but also understand the history of the place. Richard, our guide with gravitas who we'd met before, agreed to greet our guests in the Banqueting Hall just before the Wedding Breakfast to give our guests a taste of the footsteps they were following, and the walls they sat within. We hosted the 10th of Octoberfest Beer Festival by day - allowing us to use our choice of local breweries for our guests & give glasses as favours, while in the evening the 'One Hit Wonders' live 'Bandeoke' group helped us have an epic party that has lived long in the memory! Hoghton Tower worked practically too. It's a venue you really can let 'do the work' - you don't need to dress this historic building up - our 'theme' was all about keeping it simple. It's also the perfect northern wedding venue - you get the weather and want outside space? Bags of it! Spot of rain? Not a problem, space galore for you and your guests. The use of the Irishman's Tower meant we had a place Caroline could get ready with her bridesmaids before heading to Holy Trinity Church (at the bottom of the 3/4 mile long drive), as well as a place for us to stay overnight - no hotels packed with guests - just peace and quiet to reflect on and incredible weekend. We wanted a venue that stood for what our wedding was to be about, something to stand the test of time, something to return to year after year - even giving something back where we can. We wanted to be able to return to in the years to come, to experience a special place for our county, and now our family. It'll be 5 years in October 2020, and we've returned countless times, this year - for the first time as a family of 4. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
All our weddings have been special. The reason for that is that every bride and groom have been able to design their day and we have not pushed them into a 'one size fits all' package. We are a unique venue and we want our weddings to be unique too! We have had a reenactment wedding through to a beer fest wedding!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do not go over to top with decorations especially for a venue like ours. Keep it simple and let the venue 'wow' your guests!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
In an age when we want to reduce the 'stuff' we use and then have to throw away, a little live plant was the best wedding favour we have seen!

We are a charity so all weddings held here go direct to support our work to keep Hoghton Tower up and looking beautiful for the next generation. We get lots of repeat visits from couples who return with their children and now some with grandchildren!
