Description

Houchins is an elegant Grade 2 listed farmhouse with beautiful and comfortable accommodation for the bridal party and a splendid new barn complex. Houchins caters for weddings and civil ceremonies from 25 - 150+ people, offering a choice of indoor grandeur, outdoor simplicity or a combination of the two. Houchins is run by Adam and Anna Dixon-Smith who have over ten years experience operating Dove Barn, their wedding barn near Sudbury in Suffolk. Adam grew up at Houchins and is determined that no-one will leave without sharing his happy memories of the place! He and his team of wedding and event planners are on-hand to make sure that each wedding meets the expectations of every bride and groom.

Houchins is a superb venue. It provides the perfect setting for a wedding and hasn't got a myriad of rooms where you lose your guests so even when you have 100 it still feels like an intimate wedding. They are a great team to work with and I always enjoy a clients wedding here. Totally deserve their winning awards at the Essex Wedding Awards every year. Houchins is a superb venue. Myself and my wife married at Hiuchins in October 2017 and it was simply the perfect venue for what we wanted. Jason and the team were incredible hosts ensuring EVERY detail ran smoothly. Perfect DayPerfect Day
We got married at Houchins 2 years ago, from the moment we first visited we knew this was our dream venue. From start to finish the team there (Wayne, Taylor and Jayson) made everything easy and fun, they are a small team but nothing was too much trouble and they gave us some brilliant ideas for things we hadn’t thought of. They also recommended an amazing catering company, Splinters. We got married outside, then had the reception in the barn. We also stayed 2 nights in the house which was just perfect! We had the best day of our lives and I can’t recommend Houchins highly enough, it’s a dream venue with a dream team! We got married at Houchins 2 years ago, from the moment we first visited we knew this was our dream venue. We fell in love with Houchins the moment we saw the venue. We loved their friendly laid back approach and that there were no expensive surprises added on, which so many of our friends experienced with their venues as well as restrictions on what they could and couldn't do at their venues. Houchins were not like that at all. They allowed us to decorate and see our vision through to personalise our day for us. They were incredibly helpful and I would like to make a special mention to Taylor who made sure our day ran smoothly and like a dream! We would do it all over again in a heartbeat! We can’t thank houchins enough for helping us with our perfect wedding. From the first time we visited houchins, we knew this was the venue for us. The staff right from the beginning were so helpful and we’re always on hand to answer any questions we had. On the wedding day, the staff at houchins made sure that’s our day went as planned, I had no stresses as I knew everything was in hand. Everyone complimented us on the venue, saying how beautiful it is and the gorgeous surroundings. I would recommend houchins 110%. We can’t thank houchins enough for helping us with our perfect wedding. From the first time we visited houchins, we knew this was the venue for us. My husband and I found Houchins by chance and were thoroughly impressed by their approach and presentation. Everything we wanted was provided, even with a last minute Catering mishap, the team at Houchins were exceptional. The venue itself is so customisable with your own personal touches, it really makes for a very unique wedding day all your guest, and most importantly you, will remember for a lifetime.My husband and I found Houchins by chance and were thoroughly impressed by their approach and presentation. Perfect venue for a summer weddingPerfect venue for a summer wedding
I desperately wanted to get married outside, and the marquee and grounds around it were so beautiful on our super hot sunny wedding day it was everything I wanted and more! It was the perfect combination of traditional and modern and had plenty of space for all our guests to mill about in the sunshine. Everything was amazing about our wedding day and the staff at houchins couldn’t do more to help. The venue is absolutely stunning. We wish we could do it all over again. We got married at Houchins in April 2016, we had the most incredible day. Everything from the first meeting through to our day was perfect! Jason and team were there for you when needed and embraced all of our ideas! The venue is stunning and the farmhouse is the most wonderful addition, we got to spend time before and after the wedding with our nearest and dearest, nerves building up to the day and then enjoying reminiscing after. We chose Houchins because it has such a lovely feel about it and gave us the rustic style with a modern twist. Its a special place set in a beautiful surroundings. Our day was so happy from start to finish and the Houchins team really helped complete it. On the day they were fantastic.
