Merewood is licenced to hold marriage and civil partnership ceremonies with four stylish ceremony rooms to exchange your vows in. At Merewood, we have three romantic wedding packages, all of which offer you exclusive use of the entire house and twenty-acre estate. Or if you are a couple seeking a small intimate wedding for two, then the ‘Just Us’ package, is perfect for you. Our beautiful location, exceptional food, coupled with outstanding service will ensure you, your family and guests leave with everlasting treasured memories. A special time made perfectA special time made perfect
We had the best few days of our lives at Merewood this week. The food was outstanding, as was the customer service, staff were simply amazing - nothing was too much trouble. Otto, was fantastic on the day, he has lovely people skills and also photography skills. We are thrilled with the photos he took for us and we will be forever grateful. Our families were as expected, shocked and nobody had guessed. They've all said how happy they are for us for finally getting around to tying the knot and think what we did was definitely the best way to get married. They thought the Merewood looked beautiful and could see why we chose to marry there. I know I keep saying it, but we had a very special time made perfect from all of yours and other staffs help and attitude. We've never came across such amazing staff at a hotel and made to feel so welcome and special. We will definitely be back for our anniversary next year - but might manage an autumn break before that. Beyond anything I imaginedBeyond anything I imagined
Firstly, the hotel and grounds and general feel of the place is superb! It was beyond anything myself and David imagined. We have stayed in several hotels and The Merewood by far is best, most personable and just truly spectacular we have ever come across. The staff, each and every member really take pride and enjoyment in their job, nothing was too much trouble. It was so clear you all wanted to make every person’s visit memorable. There wasn’t one member of staff whom I came across whom wasn’t fantastic! You are all such as asset and I think you should be paid millions of pounds! 😊 The setting/hotel, it just looked wonderful at all times, a real gem and one we will visit for years. The food ‘, every bit of food was something else, the menu choice, the presentation was all so thought out. The wedding meal was just excellent ‘, our family are all quite different in tastes, but everyone has raved about the food! Helen and the team on the day, you really made me feel so comfortable ( I actually forgot I wasn’t royalty and the bedroom wasn’t mine!) you allowed myself and our guests to completely relax, I really didn’t expect to feel so relaxed, but you did and it’s a memory I will have forever. My daughter got married here on Saturday 23rd February 2019. Absolutely faultless. beautiful hotel, views breath-taking. the whole day was run by the wedding planner Helen and the amazing staff. Can't recommend it highly enough. All the stress and build up to the day was taken away from the minute we set foot inside the hotel. A slice of luxury for a very affordable costA slice of luxury for a very affordable cost
We had a small, intimate wedding at Merewood and we all had an absolutely brilliant time and wouldn’t have changed a thing. Helen and the team made us feel relaxed and comfortable before and during the ceremony which was fab and despite the fact that there were other guests in the hotel, we felt as though we were the only people there. The afternoon tea was beautiful and we loved that you had packed up the leftovers for us - much enjoyed by all on the journey home! The meal in the Arboreal was absolutely phenomenal ... some of the best food we have ever had - we are all still talking about it. Congratulations to the team for their recent award win too ... we definitely agree it was well deserved 😀 All in all, the day was everything we wanted and much more. We felt we had first class hospitality in a beautiful hotel and location, we could not have asked more from the staff who helped us during our stay. Also, a special thanks to Helen for making all of this possible and for organising everything for us, it really was perfect. We really felt like we were getting a little slice of luxury for a very affordable cost. We will be planning on visiting again in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Merewood for weddings and holidays. Best day of our livesBest day of our lives
We got married at Merewood on 12/10/19, it was the best day of our lives. Communication in the run up to the wedding was first class. From the moment we walked in on Friday afternoon Helen, Lucy and the team looked after us, our family and friends like royalty for the full weekend. We had exclusive use of the house from Friday to Sunday, which was super special. The views from this venue are out of this world, it was like looking at a painting the morning of our wedding when I drew the curtains. We have received so many compliments from our guests about the amazing food, wonderful staff, spectacular views and charm of the house. A massive thank youA massive thank you
Just to say a massive thank you for all your work for our wedding last weekend. It ran so smoothly from start to finish. The wonderful venue and brilliant weather obviously helped but the great organisation, hard work and little touches really made it perfect. We had so many comments about the fantastic food and about how great all the staff were. Sorry we didn't get individual names but all the staff were amazingly courteous and helpful so please pass on our thanks to all involved. My wedding day was absolutely perfectMy wedding day was absolutely perfect
I was married on the 5th May this year and we held our wedding reception at Merewood Hotel. We live locally and we have always wanted to have our wedding here, long before we even got engaged, so when we started planning our wedding, the Merewood was our first (and last!) port of call. From the first show around, to finalising the itinerary and helping with last-minute guest changes up to the day before, Helen and Rob were absolutely brilliant and helped to keep my stress levels to a minimum, Helen especially couldn’t have been more accommodating, and I am so grateful. The venue is blessed with stunning views of Lake Windermere and the Lakeland fells with the added bonus of highland cows to greet you as you first arrive and make your way up the drive. The hotel itself was large enough to hold our 100 daytime guests and 150+ guests in the evening whilst still maintaining a rustic charm, with a beautiful main room and quaint smaller rooms (the Library and the Drawing Room). The bridal suite is gorgeous and boasts unbelievable views of the lake and surrounding fells through its large bay windows. Waking up there was truly a pleasure that my husband and I would happily repeat on a daily basis. As for the day itself, the staff were absolutely amazing from serving breakfast to myself and my bridesmaids in the bridal suite, to calming my nerves and making sure the guests left the hotel on time, to the delicious food and MCing the whole day – it went without a hitch. I have been inundated with compliments from all of the guests who attended on the beauty of the venue, the staff and the quality of the food.
