Newton House Barns is a trendy modern wedding venue that can be exclusively yours. Our stunning venue is based in Newton Solney, near to the historic village of Repton in South Derbyshire. Our venue provides the perfect backdrop for each couple to create their own bespoke and unique wedding in a truly magical and stunning location. Newton House Barns boasts beautifully landscaped lawns that would be the perfect location for your special day. Our lawns are surrounded by formal walkways and woodland pathways, providing a picture-perfect setting wherever you look. The Barn itself features whitewashed timber boards, oak posts and a striking canvas lined vaulted ceiling with hessian overlays, which provides an exquisite backdrop throughout your day! We are extremely proud to have one of the best event teams in the midlands who can help to plan your day with you right from the time of booking through to your actual wedding day. Our event team will assist you with any questions, big or small, that you may have. They will arrange a one-to-one meeting, prepare your itineraries and be there for you throughout the planning process. You will also be invited to one of our fantastic tasting evenings where you will be able to taste a sample of our incredible and innovative food. Newton House Barns is unique in that we leave the choice of menu up to you. We believe your menu is not only a big part of your day but a personal choice too. We give you the option of being able to create your own menus ideas, with our event team on hand to guide you in making the best menu possible. Rude and UninterestedRude and Uninterested
Having been looking at some more exclusive venues in the Derbyshire area for a small summer wedding I have tried to contact Newton House 3 times to request pricing details. I was repeatedly told to phone. I did phone, and asked for pricing details to be told "We don't have a price list" When I asked why I was then told "We are probably not the venue for you". Every other venue has been able to provide pricing details which are then tailored to suit your requirements. If you want to be treated badly, and for prices to be made up depending on how much they think they can get away with...then this is the place for you.Having been looking at some more exclusive venues in the Derbyshire area for a small summer wedding I have tried to contact Newton House 3 times to request pricing details. Superb venue and a great daySuperb venue and a great day
We got married here on the 12th May 2018 and would highly recommend it. Leading up to the day we found Michele pretty responsive, there were a couple of e-mails we had to chase but when we did she pretty much came back to us immediately. In terms of what you can and can’t do we found that we had a free reign – they don’t allow bouncy castles due to Health & Safety, you can’t serve your own alcohol, and all services you use have to have the requisite insurance in place – all standard stuff and understandable. Other than that we were able to do what we wanted and either use the NHB suppliers or bring in our own. The only blip we had in the preparation was around the bedrooms at the venue. There are only 3 rooms available and we didn’t realise that they operate as a normal B&B so if you don’t secure the rooms other people can book them. That is what happened to us but, to be fair, this was communicated to us but we just missed it. So, if you book for your wedding, book the rooms immediately! As for the location and the day itself it was absolutely fantastic. Michele and her team do a great job of running the day and she discretely checks points with you throughout to make sure you are ready to move to the next stage. If the weather is fine then the ceremony is conducted in the gazebo and the way that people arrive means they walk through the grounds and come to the ceremony area through a little path. This works really well and gets the “ooohhh” factor really going! If you can we would recommend a string quartet as it really made the whole thing come together (we used Fortune Strings (@fortunestrings) from Lichfield – recommended!). The grounds really are immaculate and a major plus for the venue and give a lovely backdrop for the photos. For the wedding breakfast we had the beef (which comes with a twist which we won’t spoil on here) and they serve each table by walking in a line from the kitchen to the table (trust me – this works really well!). The food itself was excellent, the service was efficient and house wine is really rather good. Finally, the people on the bar were really good, we had no queues or long waits for drinks and the team there were really good fun! This was the perfect venueThis was the perfect venue
My wife and I had our reception here on the 7th July. Where can I start? This was the perfect venue - very chilled and very classy at the same time which is exactly what we wanted! Very private and secluded but never felt empty. We had so many positive comments from all of our guests regarding NHB, the stunning grounds, the amazing food and outstanding service. Michele (wedding organiser) is wonderful, again very organised and professional but fun and approachable. Her and her staff ensured the day ran seamlessly. Jacqui and Greg (owners) very kind and helpful! Would recommend this venue 100%! Thank you!My wife and I had our reception here on the 7th July. Where can I start? We could not recommend enoughWe could not recommend enough
We got married here 26th May, 2017 and could not recommend them enough! The owners are so friendly and welcoming. From the first meeting we knew this was the venue for us. The barn is beautiful and spacious with a lovely comfy seating area, room for plenty of tables and a large dance floor. The grounds are also really spacious and are just amazing! From start to finish Michele was so helpful and very efficient, answering every query or request quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. On the day itself we were able to relax and enjoy the day as Michele was so organised. She ensured that everything went to plan, and all the staff were friendly and professional. They all had an amazing ability to cater to all our needs and keep everything to time without us really noticing they were there! The food is amazing, there is a huge choice of options, we had difficulty choosing our menu but were so happy with our choice. We had so many lovely compliments from our guests, and the chef was able to cater for all our special dietary requirement, of which there were many! Our day was beautiful, relaxed and all our guests had a fantastic time, everything we hoped for. The overnight accommodation was 5*. Our day was a true fairy taleOur day was a true fairy tale
We got married here on 26th July 2018 and it truly was a magical day! Michelle was so attentive and made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible! We fell in love straight away with Newton House Barns as they’re beautiful grounds are breath taking! Just to add to our magical venue, they asked us what WE wanted for food.. anything at all. We knew we wanted a casual wedding and other venues had told us we HAD to have a sit down meal but not here.. we got to choose everything we wanted! We even asked for Guinness on the bar and there was no problem at all to sort that. Our day was a true fairy tale! The rooms are beautiful too! So many of our guests commented on the beautiful grounds and attentive staff! We would highly recommend Newton House Barns! The best day of our livesThe best day of our lives
We had our wedding here on the 14th May, 2016 and it was the best day of our lives. We are so grateful to Michele, Greg and Jacqui who could not do enough for us. Michele's fantastic organisational skills ensured that our day ran smoothly and nothing fazed her or was too much trouble. The food was amazing, the grounds are stunning and it was the perfect venue for us. We also stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. The rooms are luxurious and spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast was beautifully presented with lots of choice. Thank you to everyone at Newton House Barns for making our day so special and one we will always remember.We had our wedding here on the 14th May, 2016 and it was the best day of our lives. We really can't thank you enough for making our wedding day so very special. The barn and the gardens looked perfect on the day, we had so many compliments on your lovely venue. Everything was just as we had hoped. Michele your organisation and attention to detail was fantastic! Especially when I felt very faint in the hot sun, I was given a chair, a cold flannel, iced water and food, and the day continued to plan with most guests none the wiser! The food was delicious, again we have had so many compliments on both the wedding breakfast and the gourmet burgers in the evening. Everything ran so smoothly, we were both able to relax and enjoy the day. Well done Michele and your team! Finally our overnight stay in your beautiful room was perfect. Thank you for your hospitality at breakfast, |Jacqui and Greg, you are always so friendly and accommodating. From the moment Greg us a tour of the gardens we knew this was the right place for our wedding. We married here in July 2017 and had a perfect day. From the beauty and the tranquility of the setting, to the delicious food and professional hosting - our day couldn't have been better. It was lovely for our guests to have the time to enjoy the gardens - some commented that it was the most relaxed wedding they had attended, with the 'best wedding food ever'.
