Last Saturday my partner Matt and I got married under the gazebo at Penton Park with a string quartet playing beside us. Guests were seated on a lawn mown to size in the wild meadow. Afterwards we had a confetti shot outside the front of the beautiful house before heading to the lawn for our reception. Guests played croquet, took photos of themselves in the hammock and on the swing, and said hello to Marmaduke, Penton Park's friendly Irish Wolfhound, and Fudge, the loveliest little lurcher, who we asked to join us for part of the reception.
We dined then danced in the ballroom. By the end of the night guests could be found on the dancefloor, playing the piano and signing around it, chatting by the bar and catching up with family around the fire pit or curled up on the sofas. It's such a versatile venue and for a day it feels like home, filled with all your favourite people.
Danielle, her husband Guy and Michelle, the Events Coordinator, took such wonderful care of us and our guests. They are so warm, knowledgeable, responsive, thoughtful and helpful - everything you could ever want when planning your wedding and enjoying the day itself. If you want to see just how organised they are, ask to see one of the event sheets they put together after their final operational meeting with each couple (4-6 weeks before the wedding) - you know you're in the safest pair of hands once you've seen how much they think of for you!Last Saturday my partner Matt and I got married under the gazebo at Penton Park with a string quartet playing beside us.
