Just The Two PackageJust The Two Package
I run Lotus Photography UK and I just photographed a wedding at Rhinefield House. Obviously it is a beautiful location, but that's not the reason I wanted to write this review. The wedding I photographed was part of their "Just The Two Of Us" package, it was just the couple and a bridesmaid. I've seen venues skimp on smaller weddings, but Rhinefield spoilt them rotten! The registras created a happy fun ceremony just for them, we were all laughing and smiling. Corey from Rhinefield was on hand to help with everything with a smile. For example, the couple were talking about how they should keep the cork from the champagne and Corey disappeared only to appear minutes later with the cork and a shiny 50p he'd embedded in it, he then told us the full tradition behind it. The couple even received a few special upgrades. Hand on heart, I got back from the wedding and immediately emailed the teams Manager, good staff deserve to be screamed about, I was that impressed If this is what the team is like for a small wedding, I can only imagine what they are like for a big wedding!I run Lotus Photography UK and I just photographed a wedding at Rhinefield House. “That driveway through the Giant Canadian Redwoods is something else and the Grand Hall, which would accommodate our wedding breakfast and ceremony, was just stunning – it is actually a replica of Westminter Hall! There was no point looking at other venues.” “The staff went the extra mile and did a fantastic job – they were discreet but at the same time assertive. I think it really contributed to the overall atmosphere of the day, too. We were very lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people pull together our day. When we first came to Rhinefield two years ago we knew it was a special place and it certainly didn't disappoint. They quite literally went above and beyond from the moment we entered the venue." “The drinks flowed, the food was plentiful and spectacular – we have heard nothing but compliments even from our pickiest of guests, and the staff were dedicated, efficient, and highly coordinated. Everyone worked so hard but they always had a smile on their face and could not do enough for us. We are so spectacularly lucky to have found Rhinefield and her team.” We were very lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people pull together our day. Absolutely Fantastic DayAbsolutely Fantastic Day
We had an absolutely fantastic day on Saturday, loved every minute although the day absolutely flew by! We literally can't think of a single "constructive" point, the day was perfect. Everything ran smoothly, the food was amazing, the service was impeccable throughout the breakfast and all the staff were helpful and so friendly. In particular, Cory and Nick (Ops Manager) were brilliant - they were both so attentive and clearly on top of absolutely everything, even there to give Kim a few words of encouragement when nerves set in! This continued all day and into the Sunday, where all of the hotel staff were so friendly! We had comments from so many of our guests how much they enjoyed the day and in particular how excellent they thought the staff were. People have waxed lyrical about all the food (from the canapes to breakfast), about the rooms, the grounds, the spa - we've had nothing but positive comments! It was clear all day that everything had been thought of, that everybody knew how the day was due to run and ensured that it did so to the letter, even when timings slipped slightly later in the day. This was just simply the most magical day of my life and I cannot that the team enough. I am a real control freak but this was the one time I actually let go and enjoyed myself. Horrific experience Horrific experience
Unfortunately the Rhinefield Hotel couldn’t have got any more wrong if they tried and I’m not really sure where to begin. I filled in the final details form as requested and even put together my own form to give to my wedding party and suppliers and ensure everyone was on the same page - as I was ready to walk down the aisle they discovered their speakers didn’t work. Luckily my bridesmaid had her own with her, so her husband went to their bedroom to get them to find their key didn’t work and staff were packing all of their belongings. (I stayed with my bridesmaids the night before and have email correspondence to confirm the room booking for the next night) Turns out they didn’t book the room as requested and had to put them up in a timeshare apartment - In the move they lost items and went through some very personal belongings without any permission - When my guests were arriving they were holding a meeting in my room, making everyone feel very uncomfortable. To the point where one of my wedding party had to ask a random person to move away from my cake - We had an intimate wedding with afternoon tea - they forgot the sandwiches. We waited 45 minutes for them to arrive (after the cakes) and they offered us 3 plates for 25 people - we had one bar staff for over 100 people, despite giving numbers well in advance and even asking for extra staff before evening guests arrived - my room wasn’t decorated as put on my final details form. After the ceremony we found my bag of decorations left in the room untouched. So myself and my bridesmaids (in our dresses!) had to move log slices about and redecorate the room. It was so unorganised despite all the effort we put in. I really don’t know what I would have done without my amazing bridesmaids trying to resolve all issues without telling me. It’s only since then I’ve found out about much more. It’s an absolutely beautiful venue but the staff are not helpful at all. It’s still an ongoing issue as they think it’s my expectations not being met rather than them doing anything wrong. Our breathtaking Alhambra Room is an exact copy of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, recreated by Mabel Walker-Munro as a Christmas present for her husband.
