Description

Skinners’ Hall dates from 1670, immediately after the Great Fire of London. It is a Grade I listed building rich in history and tradition, beautifully furbished with great style and elegance. Skinners’ Hall is an exquisite private venue in the very heart of the City. Guests enter through the ceremonial gates at 8½ Dowgate Hill, into the charming paved courtyard to the warmth and character of a fine country house, complete with period furniture and exceptional Brangwyn paintings. The building has many special features including a roof terrace with olive trees and a fountain for fine weather receptions, a grand staircase in the Old Court Room and the unique round gallery above the Outer Hall with a log fire for winter weddings. Your wedding ceremony would take place in the Outer Hall in front of the fireplace for up to 115 guests. If the weather is agreeable your guests can drink champagne either outside or in the Old Court Room before moving to a spectacular wedding breakfast in the Banqueting Hall. After dinner dancing would take place in the Old Court Room magically transformed while you are dining in style and enjoying the Best Man’s speech.

Full of compliments!Full of compliments!
We had a lovely day,thank you! The weather was fine and sunny so the bridal couple left the church with us all throwing confetti and feeling very happy after a wonderful church ceremony. The picture is taken straight after and they are so happy! At the reception the terrace was beautifully presented by yourselves so again we all enjoyed the sunshine with your crudites and guests mingled happily.Following this the Wedding breakfast was delicious and many of our family and friends were full of compliments, so thank you to all your staff for giving David and Michaela and my family such a wonderful day to remember. First Impressions Matter!First Impressions Matter!
Everything was terrific on Saturday and all the guests loved the venue – even though it was a trifle hot!!! The food was really, really good and waiting staff very attentive and pleasant. My husband and kids thought the chocolate mousse was to die for and I do remember Kevin almost salivating when he tasted it back in April. The cheese wedding cake was very nicely presented. The guests who went upstairs for the ceremony told me they thought they had the best seats in the house! The staff on duty when people arrived were most helpful which I believe is very important as first impressions matter. All in all it was a lovely wedding in a fabulous venue which I knew it would be from the moment I first came with Kevin to look at Skinners Hall.
