Whether it’s the idyllic scenery or the quintessentially English setting, it’s clear why the South Downs National Park is a favourite location for wedding couples. A venue that continues to attract brides and grooms year on year is Southdowns Manor, a historical venue located just a few miles from Trotton, near Midhurst. This spectacular property was originally built in the late 19th century as a two-storey house by the Honourable John Jervis Carnegie. And while the manor has undergone many upgrades, it has carefully preserved its historical charm with elegant furnishings, open fireplaces and sweeping bay windows. Licensed for civil ceremonies, the manor offers a choice of locations for couples to exchange their vows. The Grand Banqueting Suite is popular for ceremonies of up to 150 guests, while the elegant Sussex Room and the Conservatory are perfect for more intimate occasions. During the warmer months, the outdoor gazebo offers a romantic setting on the Southdowns Manor lawns. The in-house chefs and wedding planning team work to the highest standards to provide decadent wedding breakfasts and evening entertainment. The manor also boasts 14 sumptuously furnished guest rooms, providing a luxe retreat following celebrations. With a warm and welcoming feel and a bespoke approach to service, Southdowns Manor places itself as an exclusive ‘home from home’ - all enhanced by the beauty of the surrounding National Park.

How amazing the food wasHow amazing the food was
We had the most amazing day. The venue is breathtaking and the staff are ridiculously helpful and nice. Lia was a superstar and nothing was to much trouble. Everyone could not get over how amazing the food was and lots of people said to us that it was the best wedding they’d ever been too. We can’t thank Southdowns Manor enough for all there hard work and an amazingly special day. We had the most amazing day. The venue is breathtaking and the staff are ridiculously helpful and nice. Lia was a superstar and nothing was to much trouble. Everyone could not get over how amazing the food was and lots of people said to us that it was the best wedding they’d ever been too. We can’t thank Southdowns Manor enough for all there hard work and an amazingly special day.

We had the most perfect weekendWe had the most perfect weekend
We didn’t just get one dream wedding at Southdowns Manor but two. We had the most perfect weekend and was honestly a fairy-tale from start to finish. Lia is absolutely amazing, not only an incredible wedding planner but a truly wonderful lady. Nothing was too much trouble and Lia and the whole team went above and beyond to make our dreams come true. The food was out of this world not just the wedding breakfast but a delicious bespoke Indian buffet the night before. All of our guests agree we made the perfect choice for our wedding venue, we just wish we could do it all over again. Also special thanks to Kate who was so lovely and kind and looked after us in the evenings when Lia had gone for the night. Thanks so much Southdowns Manor for giving us a wedding we will never forget We didn’t just get one dream wedding at Southdowns Manor but two. The best Wedding venue ever! The best Wedding venue ever!
The best Wedding venue ever! Perfect from start to finish! We could not have asked for a more amazing, professional, attentive wedding planner as Lia was. She was a perfectionist! Made us both feel at ease throughout our whole wedding planning journey so we can honestly say we did not feel the usual stress associated with weddings! Being able to start the day by getting ready with the bridesmaids in the dressing room was lovely & made the day seem to last longer. My only suggestion for the dressing room is to have better lighting in there (it was a rainy day so even daylight was poor) The food was perfect, we received so many compliments from our guests on both the wedding breakfast (Lamb shank) & the evening buffet (Indian Selection). The staff made sure no wine glasses were empty throughout the day & were all very professional & friendly. The chair sashes provided by Southdowns Manor were the perfect match to our flowers. We also found our blossom trees during an open day at Southdowns ManorThe best Wedding venue ever! Perfect from start to finish! We booked our wedding here as Well fell in love with it as soon as we walked in. Lia was our wedding planner and she was lovely. Nothing was too much especially on the day ! From the moment we arrived it blew us away.From the moment we arrived it blew us away.
Before we even got engaged we found out about Southdowns Manor on Facebook. On first impressions we thought we would love to get married there one day. So when we got engaged, it was our first choice of venue to see… it turned out to be the only one we saw. From the moment we arrived it blew us away. Its location, the exclusivity and the overall look of the venue is what drew us in but its so much more than that. The team was very attentive and always on hand to answer questions and reassure us with any little worries we had. There are so many little touches the venue provide that made it feel so special and unique to us. When we got closer to our big day we were appointed Kate Armstrong for the last few weeks of planning and to oversee the actual day. We had read many reviews which mentioned how good she was and they were not wrong. She is amazing, she has such passion and excitement for weddings and nothing is too much trouble for her. She was on hand all day to make sure everything ran smoothly and any minor issues were resolved so quickly by her that they were barely noticed. Words cannot describe how important she was to us on our big day, by the end of it we didn’t want her to leave and we are going to miss her now its over. Kate is a HUGE asset to Southdowns Manor. On the day the venue looked beautiful. The canapés, wedding breakfast and evening buffet were delicious. The DJ Southdowns Manor use is very good and had people up dancing all night. We also had the selfie mirror provided by Smiles Entertainment and its such a great idea. Paul who runs it is brilliant. All of our guests have not stopped saying how wonderful everything was and how much fun they had, which is what we exactly wanted. We really did have the perfect day and wish we could do it all again. Absolutely nothing I could say to improve this amazing venue. All the support and help you could ask for combined with a beautiful venue, yummiest food and at exceptionally good value. We planned our wedding in 5 and half months and didn’t get stressed once due to so much fantastic support. We had the best day and are so grateful. Wish we could do it all again!
