Description

Within the Castle grounds we are able to offer couples a choice of ceremonies and we will be pleased to take the time to discuss all of the available options. St Mary’s Chapel, dating from the 15th Century, sits within the heart of the gardens and is the resting place of Katherine Parr, the last wife of King Henry VIII. The beautiful building has the most wonderful uplifting atmosphere and couples are able to have their blessing ceremony with around 140 happy guests. We also have 3 rooms licensed to hold a civil ceremony from the historic to the informal: The Library - This small, private library is a treasure trove of fine art and priceless antiques and offers a perfect location for intimate civil ceremonies from between 2 and 50 guests. The Pavilion – This large airy space with floor to ceiling glass walls can accommodate around 120 guests and has the most wonderful outlook across the Terrace to the Cotswold Hills beyond. The Medieval Banqueting Room - Decorated with an impressive display of armour, featuring a roaring fire and can be magically lit by candlelight, accommodating around 100 wedding ceremony guests. Alternatively, our beautiful gardens offer you the opportunity to hold your blessing in one of the areas of the gardens that is right for you… perhaps in the spectacular Queens Garden, over-looking the Castle or surrounded by flowers in the walled and intimate Secret Garden. Wedding breakfast Within the Castle and grounds we are able to provide spacious dining and celebration areas within the Banqueting Hall and the Terrace Pavilion to seat up to 140 people. The historic Banqueting Hall is both warm in winter and cool in summer and the Terrace Pavilion has breath-taking views of the surrounding Cotswold Hills. For larger parties from 140 to 600, marquees can be positioned on our spacious lawns, each lawn having its own stunning backdrop of the most photogenic castle and ruins which can ‘wow’ your guests.

As a guide, as each wedding is different, for 100 guests we provide the gardens, the spaces for your celebrations, and the tables and chairs for your wedding. The wedding team will work with you from initial enquiry and show around to being with you on the day - and all the stages in between. There is also extensive free parking.

Thank you too for all your help leading up to our wedding. It was honestly the best day of our lives!! Everything went so well, the marquee etc looked absolutely beautiful, Sam did the most incredible job! We had the most amazing weather, not too hot and not too cold, so we were able to have most of the marquee sides open which was how I wanted to have it (but you can’t plan these things, so we were just lucky!) & obviously the food Matthew provided was so delicious, a number of our guests found him and commended him directly. Thank you too for all your help leading up to our wedding. It was honestly the best day of our lives!! Everything went so well, the marquee etc looked absolutely beautiful, Sam did the most incredible job! We just wanted to say thank you so so much for everything last weekend for our wedding. Where to start...it was just amazing from start to finish. A completely magical day at such a perfect venue and we had the best time. We knew we were in safe hands from our first meeting with you, Sarah, and the day didn’t disappoint - everything was truly perfect. Thank you so much for all the help you gave us in the days leading up to the wedding and on the day itself!! You made the process so smooth and stress free - nothing was too much trouble and it was a delight to work with you both. All the staff were so efficient, organised, professional, and all knew exactly what was happening next.
