Designed to make the most of the breath-taking views over the neighbouring Trent & Mersey canal, it offers a contemporary setting for couple’s looking for something a little out of the ordinary. Its modern architecture and stylish, minimalist interior have been designed to offer couples a blank canvas that can be styled to fit their theme – be it classically elegant or contemporary chic.
Fully licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies with the option of an outdoor wedding, it presents the perfect backdrop to a single-venue celebration; with a host of menu options available from the marina’s award-winning kitchen team, and its own licensed bar. An en-suite Bridal day room with comfy sofa and TV offers the perfect space for the bridal party to prepare, relax and freshen up during the ‘big day’; as well as a quiet spot for elderly relatives or young children to take time out of the celebrations.

The surroundings are stunning,l and the Boathouse has beautiful views of the water and the countryside from all directions. There were no restrictions and the venue were so accepting of everything we wanted. The staff worked tirelessly all day and nothing was too much trouble. We dropped everything off the day before and they set the room up to our exact specification perfectly. A special mention has to go to Beckie Rowlinson. We met her when we went to view the venue and she was in contact with us throughout the whole process, and was an absolute delight to work with. She kept everything going all day, moved some last minute place settings with no notice, fanned out my dress before I walked down the aisle and was still there at midnight! She even helped us put everything in the car the next day! We would recommend Aston Marina to anyone, there are literally not enough words to thank them for everything they did. We couldn’t have been happier with the venue and the staff, everything was beautiful! - SStacey Hulse23/09/2019'Our Perfect Day''Our Perfect Day'As a newlywed couple we would like to share an overview of our very positive experience of working with the team of wedding coordinators at the Boat House, Aston Marina, Stone. We married on the 18th May in the gorgeous grounds of this amazing venue… the outdoor area offers breathtaking views and inside is purpose built, single storey (offering excellent access for all), modern and adaptable – making it the perfect venue to reflect the personalities of the happy couple. Just look at the photos on the venue’s website…. it really does speak for itself! The first time we met the team during a wedding open day, they took note of what we wanted and indicated that we could personalise their packages to meet our needs (we had not been offered such flexibility by their local competitors). We registered our details when we attended the event, but there was no pressure to book. A few weeks later Beckie contacted us to tell us about a new special offer, remembering that we were really keen on a May wedding (that we thought was beyond our budget). She felt it would fulfil our needs, while still offering the flexibility to add our personal touches. And the price was within our budget and very competitive compared with other local wedding venues! As our wedding co-ordinator, Beckie was incredibly supportive and responsive to our wishes, and was part of a cohesive team of wedding coordinators who we liaised with on the few occasions that Beckie was not available. We felt that the team were truly invested in ensuring that every aspect of our wedding day was perfect, nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely shared in our joy and happiness! We have listed how the team helped create our perfect day: • Clear payments schedules were provided at the point of booking with timely reminders which helped us plan and manage our budget • Regular communication, an open invitation to meet face-to-face and visit the Boat House as many times as we needed to. For example, we were able to test our IT equipment for a slide show to be projected during our first dance, and were offered unlimited opportunities to practice the dance • Decided we wanted a videographer only a couple of weeks before the wedding. Beckie recommended two providers and we were able to secure a late booking • No additional charge for the bridal room with tea and coffee provided, plus flexibility for Bride #1 and her bridesmaids to gain early access from 7 am on the day (usually this would be 8 am) • Accepted our Spotify playlist for day music and also liaised with House DJ with our evening Spotify list. The music was perfectly timed throughout the day and the DJ played all of our favourite tunes – we were never off the dance floor! • Facilitated flexibility in how the room was set up to incorporate a slideshow for the first dance, which meant that the dance floor was in a ‘never been done before position’ • Allowed us to personalise venue with our own decorations (e.g. Bride #1 made the bunting for the gazebo) • There were a number of ‘surprises’ arranged by each Bride for the other. Beckie kept the secrets and supported each Bride in making them happen • On the day itself, everything was set up for the wedding ceremony to take place inside, however everything was quickly and efficiently moved and set up outside at our last minute request as the weather was better than expected ☺ • Throughout the day, Beckie was discreet but always present and in control of and directing proceedings, she gave calm and timely prompts to keep everything on schedule and reminded us several times that ‘it’s your day so whatever you need or want to change is ok’ • Mouth watering first class cuisine! So many compliments from our guests including those who had the gluten free and vegetarian options. Bride #2 was served a different choice of main wedding breakfast meal (her favourite) and Yorkshire puddings as a nod to her upbringing were included for everyone at no extra cost • Sourced Bride #2’s favourite alcoholic drink to replace standard drinks option just for her • Provided Bride #2 with tea during the afternoon/evening when requested • Alex, the waiting on and bar staff were efficient and attentive. Alex organised a top table tab and embraced the role of Master of Ceremonies! • Late arrival of Mother of Bride #2 with carer was planned and Beckie discreetly facilitated their timely arrival and integrated them seamlessly into our wedding celebrations • The DJ and Beckie coordinated the slide show with the music perfectly for the first dance – had this not been the case our dance would have been a disaster! • Immaculately clean venue and facilities inside and out – lots of positive comments from our guests, especially about the spotless bathroom and toilet facilities • Plenty of free parking • Prompt return of refundable damages deposit • Cut the cake strategically to preserve the front end of our campervan (with headlights!) and wrapped to keep it fresh for us to take home and enjoy later • Wedding suppliers all commented that the Boat House staff are a pleasure to work with, and they were all well looked after on the day by the team • The team were keen for us to offer constructive feedback and showed a genuine commitment to improving their services – our experience was so incredible that we struggled to offer suggestions for improvement! Look no further, this is the perfect venue!We got married last Saturday at the Boathouse and I can only describe our day as perfection! This venue in its picturesque setting is the perfect balance of modern elegance and simplicity. The exposed brick, breathtaking lighting and floor to ceiling bi-folding doors are the perfect bones around which to decorate according to your theme. Not only is the venue stunning, with wonderful photo opportunities, but the food is incredible! The options for canapés, the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet were amazing and there is something to suit everyone’s style and taste. We chose the smokehouse BBQ which was the perfect choice for the relaxed vibe of our wedding and everyone commented on how delicious the food was. The canapés and pizza buffet we had on the evening were also top notch! But what makes this venue truly special is the staff; every member of staff we met both before the wedding and on the day were, friendly, welcoming, helpful and efficient. They ensured that the lead up to our big day and the day itself ran as smoothly as possible like a well oiled machine. I can’t praise the team enough, in particular our wedding coordinator Nicki who was just a complete and utter gem ❤️ Nothing was ever too much trouble and her passion for her job is evident in every encounter. It really was the most perfect day and here are the reasons why: Value for money – there are many options for you to chose to tailor your day, including drinks, food and added extras. Each option is great value for money compared to other wedding venues in the area. The staff – during the 12 months of planning, Nicki, our wedding coordinator was always at the end of the phone or e-mail, answering all of the many questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble! During the wedding day, the staff were polite and professional and ensured that everything ran like clockwork (which it did!) The food – the food is absolutely delicious – hats off to the kitchen staff. Many of our guests commented on the quality (and portion sizes) of the food. The beef and lamb were definitely the winners for me! The venue – the huge windows, the bare brick walls and lovely ceiling lights mean that you don’t have to spend loads of money dressing the room up. We were lucky with the weather and were able to marry outside, which was so special. As well as that our guests got to chill out on the massive patio area and the kids played on the grass. The outside area is vast with stunning views looking out to the marina and Aston church. If you want your wedding day to be well managed, so that all you need to do is enjoy the day with your new husband/wife and your guests, this is definitely the place for you! Joe and I got married here 21-04-19 Easter Sunday. It was the best day of our lives. The sun was shining over the marina the views were breathtaking! Becky and Alex were the perfect supporters for our day, they couldn't do enough for us. The food OMG, all our friends and family are still talking about the food saying it has been the best food they have had at a wedding- HONESTLY IT WAS! What we loved that there were so many menu options to chose from- the lamb, my mouth is still watering!! You could dress the venue as much or as little as you like, you don't need to though as it speaks for itself- from the lights dangling from the ceiling, the flooring, the chairs, the big windows that let in tons of natural light, the bridal room to get ready in, and finally the amazing views. The Boat House is located right next to the Marina which gives a fantastic opportunity for some gorgeous pictures. We had exclusive use of the venue and loved the bridal room that allowed me to get ready with my bridesmaids and relax before the ceremony. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
That is such a difficult question, as we have held so many fantastic weddings, but if we had to pick a favourite it would probably be a wedding we held in 2016 that was festival themed. The couple literally thought of everything from lanyards with the day's itinerary for every guest, to garden games, live bands playing throughout the day, an ice cream van, and even a special pizza delivery for the bride and groom at the end of the night. It was so much fun and they had clearly put in a lot of time into planning a day they would never forget.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Keep CALM!! We know sometimes it can be easier said then done, but we've seen so many couples almost ruin it for themselves because they have got so stressed about details that in the end don't matter. Remember to stay calm and try to enjoy the planning. Everything goes by so quick...relish it!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
The couple had a young son whose favourite movie was Toy Story. So as a cute nod to him, they walked back up the aisle to 'You've Got a Friend in Me' from the film.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many amazing photo opportunities at The Boat House, however we absolutely adore photos overlooking the marina.

Does a Michael Jackson impersonator count??
What’s your favourite canapé?
Mini Yorkshire pudding with shredded beef & horseradish.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We are based in Staffordshire. Of course it has to be the Staffordshire oatcake filled with cheese!!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our permanent lighting feature - the perfect backdrop to the first dance!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We were so proud to be awarded The Wedding Industry Awards West Midlands Events Team of the Year 2020!
