The Grange is an exclusive, privately owned, 41 bedroom Regency townhouse of great charm and character, superbly restored and luxuriously furnished in classic country house style. Situated just a short walk from York Register Office, the Minster and city centre, it is officially classified AA 4 star, with 2 AA Rosettes for The Ivy Brasserie, true recognition of excellence by the association. Whether you are planning a small, intimate reception or a larger gathering for family and friends, The Grange provides the perfect venue for your celebration and those photographic memories you will cherish for years to come. The Grange's fine Regency reception rooms have been luxuriously decorated with elegant fabrics, soft furnishings and antique furniture to reflect their classical period. Depending on numbers, you have a choice of the following: - The Library and Drawing Room, our suite of rooms on the first floor, are the perfect setting for both Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception. The large French windows provide a light, airy and sunny atmosphere and, during the winter months, the fire glows in the grate of the period marble fireplace and candles twinkle on the mantelpiece. The Morning Room is especially warm and welcoming. A typically English room with deep comfy sofas and a blazing coal fire in the cooler months. It is tailor-made for the smaller Wedding Ceremony and drinks reception. The Ivy Brasserie is our quirky and atmospheric brick vaulted cellar which was once used as a bunker in the second world war. Our aim at all times is to provide quality and value, leading to the ultimate satisfaction of all concerned.

The #1 wedding venue in YorkThe #1 wedding venue in York
We decided to have our wedding at the Grange hotel having stayed there previously and been very impressed with both the standard of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. I cannot praise the hotel enough from the first day we met to discuss our plans the year before up to the minute we left. Throughout the entire planning period nothing was too much trouble and all our requirements were met in fact exceeded. We and our guests arrived on the Friday evening and from then on everything was amazing. The big day itself ran like a dream and the room set up, the food, the staff, the accommodation in fact everything was perfect. We stayed in the suite which was fantastic and huge and therefore perfect for the bride to get ready in especially with all the other people in there at the same time such as hairdresser, makeup artist, photographer as well as numerous members of our families! I cannot praise the hotel and the staff enough and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Grange Hotel as the #1 wedding venue in York. We would like to express our sincere thanks and congratulations to you and all the staff for the excellent organisation and service that you provided in order for us to enjoy a perfect wedding weekend. From the outset Naomi and Chris found an atmosphere of professionalism and service that, combined with homely ambience of the hotel, set their minds at rest and gave them peace of knowing that they had chosen the best venue for their wedding. As with any event organising, last minute additions become necessary and when we make such requests we were never made to feel awkward or troublesome. The end result was that we enjoyed a perfectly presented ceremony, meal and evening party. The unanimous view from both families and guests, was that The Grange was the perfect wedding venue. All staff we encountered could not have been more obliging and caring. Simply amazingSimply amazing
We were married on January 10th 2015. From start to finish the hotel staff went out of their way to make our day run as smoothly as possible. We live in York and decided to hold our wedding reception at The Grange Hotel, after visiting many hotels we both felt that The Grange Hotel suited us and had the perfect style to hold the day we were looking for. First of all the wedding events team Claire & Suzanne were great from day one, taking in everything we wanted and giving us options to suit our needs & budget. Can't give them enough thanks! Then when the actual day arrived the managers on duty (Scott & Nick) were so helpful, from the night before when we were setting everything up and on the day making sure everything was going to plan and running smoothly, they were constantly around making sure we were happy. It was a very busy event (so we were told the next morning!) More people turned up than expected on the evening so there were many sweaty heads on the eve! but all the staff were calm & collected! A big shout out to the chefs too for the food it was delicious! We stayed in the Suite and there was plenty of room for bridesmaids to potter around in the morning without it feeling too cramped & busy! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom beautiful! Overall our wedding was just perfect! I will upload some photos when I get a chance. And we will be returning to the hotel to make use of the restaurants sometime very soon!We were married on January 10th 2015.
