We held our wedding at the Lowry Theatre and Gallery in the spring of 2017. I'm sure that no-one writes a negative review about their own wedding venue, but we had such an amazing day at the Lowry - and the organisation and impressiveness of the venue really added to that.
The Lowry might not look like an obvious wedding venue, but we would highly recommend that anyone thinking of getting married in central Manchester visits the Compass Room. It is a glass room perched at the top of the gallery, with stunning views of Salford Quays, and two balconies for guests to take a break from dancing! In combination with the incredible modern architecture of the building and the surrounding Quays, this is a really unique venue. The Lowry is also one of the few places in central Manchester which allows you to party until the early morning hours (in our case, last orders were just before 2am).
The whole team at the Lowry was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They were incredibly accommodating in letting our whole families visit to see the venues, and responded promptly to all of our queries. From our long organisational meeting with Lucy, who did a brilliant job of running the show, to the awesome woman manning the stage door when we dropped off our decorations, to Tracy and the coordinators on the day, everybody was friendly, efficient and great company. The team also accommodated our odd, unique wedding requests, such as drinks vouchers for favours and a very unwieldy table plan!
As a final point, the food served at dinner was great quality - if you are reading this and planning to visit the Lowry, we would highly recommend stopping off at Pier Eight. We held our wedding at the Lowry Theatre and Gallery in the spring of 2017.
