We had the Modern Windsor Package for our wedding reception in April 2018 and had 15 hotels rooms booked individually by our guests. Between booking our wedding in March 2017 and the date of our wedding, the hotel management changed to Michels & Taylor. Also Daniella, the wedding coordinator we booked with, and several other members of staff had left the hotel. On the day of our wedding there were several key points of failure around the service we received. We felt this was because they did not have enough staff for a wedding of 80 guests resulting in a chaotic, late and cold wedding meal, 30-45 minute queues at the bar for our guests throughout the day, other customers being served lunch and dinner on the terrace that was meant to be exclusively for our wedding guests and the bar running out of alcohol so our guests went next door to the Mute Swan for drinks. The few waiters that were there on the day worked incredibly hard but we felt they were inexperienced, under–trained and were impacted by poor communication from management. For these reasons I would not be able to personally recommend the Mitre as a wedding venue. However, the hotel manager did personally call to apologise two days after our wedding and our complaint was dealt with swiftly. We received a 50% refund off our total wedding invoice as compensation for the Mitre not delivering what they said they would when we booked which although this obviously cannot recreate our wedding day was a nice gesture from the Mitre as way of an apology for the upset and distress that was caused on our wedding day.We had the Modern Windsor Package for our wedding reception in April 2018 and had 15 hotels rooms booked individually by our guests.
