We booked the smaller, Intimately Yours wedding package, which fitted within our budget, and although we were probably not the biggest wedding ever held at the Castle, we were made to feel welcomed and nothing was too much trouble.
Prior to the wedding we had ample interaction with our events organiser including menu tasting and seeing the Tower Suites so we could decide which one we wanted to stay in on the Big Day.
On the day itself, we were met promptly by the Tower Suites concierge and was helped with our belongings. During the day and the staff handovers, we were still checked on and any requests were met with no problems. The Ceremony Room (the Library) and the State Dining Room were laid-out as specified and we were overwhelmed by their appearance. After the Ceremony, we were taken over to the peacock garden for drinks and nibbles (we requested a change to have nibbles rather than canapes - the pork scratching were amazing!) before watching a Birds of Prey display, which amazed all of our guests, and ourselves. Following photographs in the courtyard with our guests, we settled down for 3-course dinner. The food was excellent, as was the service, which was commented on by guests. Nothing seemed to small for the staff to deal with, who were very attentive. The staff assisted our guests with arranging taxis home, as well as ferrying those with mobility difficulties in a buggy across the grounds during the day. At the end of the night, we had nothing to worry about as our guests were looked after and our gifts etc were kept safe whilst we spent the night in the Tower Suites, which is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the night in a Castle.
In summary, we spent two years arranging our wedding, and the staff in the lead up and on the day made it even more special than imagined.
