Watermouth Cove Weddings is a three generation, family run, charming coastal wedding venue located in Ilfracombe, along the North Devon coastline. Here, couples can choose from an array of breath-taking ceremony locations. The sweeping natural vistas on display here provide the perfect wedding celebration backdrop. With exclusive use of their Private Cove and Caves, your wedding can embody more than just 24 hours – celebrations over multiple days can create memories that last a lifetime.
Facilities and Capacity
Watermouth Cove Weddings offers a variety of beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces that can host all kinds of nuptial occasions. Here, couples can choose from two stunning ceremony areas.
One of our most loved locations is Viewpoint. With bench seating for 125 guests, it’s situated on the Headland. This ceremony area overlooks the North Devon Coastline, guaranteeing you breath-taking photographs to look back on in years to come. With a backdrop of Combe Martin, Hangman Hill and the secluded Broadsands Beach, the view showcases the beauty that North Devon has to offer.A 30 second walk from Viewpoint, yet nestled into woodland greenery, is The Woodland Barn. With seating for 125 guests, The Woodland Barn showcases a beautiful open plan vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers. Huge countryside barn doors, and draping fairy lights, this is the perfect setting for your indoor ceremony. Outside The Woodland Barn is a rustic stone wishing well, not only a beautiful picture opportunity for your guests to enjoy, but is dedicated to the family members and friends that can’t be there to celebrate your special day.
For your wedding breakfast, this venue offers two spacious indoor venues to choose from. Directly overlooking the Cove, The Beach House is the perfect setting for you, and up to 125 guests to enjoy your Wedding Breakfast. The Getaway Wedding Package. If you wish to go down the route of 'staycation style' you can hire out our magical venue for either two or three nights. This price tariff includes exclusive use of all our Accomodation, Ceremony Venues and Reception Venues. This package is the most popular among couples who wish for their guests and themselves to experience a more mini 'getaway', being able to relax before and use our heated swimming pools, or explore the hidden caves is always a hit, leaving your guests with a wedding to remember. As stated above, the accommodation is included in this price, Watermouth can sleep up to 55 people in our self contained units, so there is plenty of space for all the family to enjoy.

- TTaylor & Alex05/08/2022Perfect from start to finishPerfect from start to finishIt’s taken a few months to write this review, purely because it’s almost impossible to express what an amazing place this is… From the moment we viewed the venue, tears were in our eyes from the pure beauty of the cove. I had to book it as soon as possible. We loved the fact it was a family run business. The whole place has such an amazing vibe. We got married in April 2022 and stayed for the weekend with our guests. The accommodation is lovely and reasonably priced for guests. The venue has so many great amenities such as the cove, fire pit, outside seating, pool and bar. We can not recommend the venue and staff enough. Zoe and Georgia were brilliant throughout the planning process and throughout the day. As a bride and a control freak I felt completely at ease that my day would run smoothly and as I wanted, which it absolutely did without a glitch. The catering staff are amazing, all the guests really enjoyed our wedding food. The bar staff are equally as amazing and we found the drinks to be very reasonably priced. Our guests loved the cocktail menu and also the alcohol slushy. The whole wedding weekend was perfect from start to finish and exactly what me and my partner wanted. A lot of this is down to Georgia and Zoe so a huge thank you to them. I would whole heartedly recommend this venue to anyone, just book it, you won’t be disappointed. All said it's the best wedding they've been to. The day was so chilled, exactly what we wanted. It's been great getting to know Georgia, Zoe and team. A huge perk with my job is that I get to see venues in a slightly different perspective as I get to see a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff, and I have to tell you, I can not stop raving about the team there. First things first, it's beautiful! The beach, the caves, the views, the indoor venue spaces, the woodwork (look closely and you'll spot what I mean), and the bridal sweet is newly furnished and looks fantastic. They've even thought about having a hook in the ceiling so you can hang your wedding dress properly. They have such a great eye for detail, and they have really thought about how to make the most of the venue. The practical stuff: a venue can be beautiful, but if it's not practical, it really annoys me, again, they have thought of this. Parking, accommodation, all the indoor spaces are easily accessible, the loos are not miles away, I did get a little concerned the slope up to the cliff top ceremony space might be too steep for some guests, but no, they have a golf buggy on hand just in case! The food: I wasn't expecting to be fed at this wedding, but the chef would not hear of that, and happily provided me with a 3 course gluten free meal with hardly any notice. It was delicious! And the fact she could cater to my allergy at the drop of a hat, that meant so much to me. The Staff: When I left, I just wanted to walk around and hug EVERY member staff. They care so much about what they do and giving their couples the best day, but they also have this joy for life which is infectious. Our couples love taking photos in our Caves. They offer something completely unique to your wedding and are also one of our licensed venues.

What’s your favourite canapé?
Our favourite has to be the Sticky BBQ Pork Belly skewers. However, our catering team have an amazing range of options and you'll be stuck for choice!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Roasted Marshmallows on our fire pit!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
We have our own private Cove here! Whilst you and your guests are enjoying an extended stay, why not bring a couple of paddle boards and kayaks and spend a couple of hours out on the open ocean. You'll get a completely different view of the North Devon coastline and hopefully get a glimpse of some dolphins. Or if adventure is not for you, relax by our two of our heated swimming pools.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are most proud to be established as a family run business. Working with each other and helping other couples whilst doing so is our favourite aspect of the job. We are a supportive team that encourages each other, and we hope to support you through your wedding too.
