The Château de Cognac overlooking the Charente River was first a 10th century fortress intended to stop the Norman invasions, then in the 15th century a stately home where one of the most illustrious kings of France, François I, was born.
Baron Otard, who founded his Cognac House in 1795, quickly understood to what extent the thickness of the walls offered exceptional and unique conditions for the aging of his eaux-de-vie. He then acquired the Castle, thus saving it from total destruction.
The Château de Cognac, which has become a historic monument, is today a cognac house.
We offer different tours, all at the heart of two stories: the History of France and the history of Baron Otard and D’Ussé cognacs.

Chateau de Cognac is the perfect match: Birthplace of a famous french king that has been presented during the guided tour (we could in the meantime organize our shooting), and the amazing discovery of cognac know how. The cocktails were perfect, the place incredible. I loved the rooftop cocktail bar for the friday and the gala room for the saturday. The cherry on the cake: the amazing team who was so agile and flexible! For my wedding, we wanted a place full of heritage and history where our friends and family could discover a piece of France and have fun. We had selected a limited number of cocktails in advance to facilitate service (four cocktails to choose from and two mocktails). We had a wonderful time, and six months later, our guests are still talking about it! The view is magnificent, especially at sunset, and the service and the quality of the cocktails are impeccable.We had reserved the castle terrace for our civil wedding cocktail reception. Every wedding is unique and magnificent. The most beautiful wedding is one that perfectly reflects the love and complicity of the bride and groom, creating a magical and unforgettable atmosphere. I remember an outdoor wedding, under the stars and fairy lights, with the sweet melody of a violin accompanying the bride and groom's entrance. It was magnificent!

Good support is also a plus! It's not just your family, witnesses, friends, but also a wedding planner who will take care of everything.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of the most memorable touches I've seen at a wedding was a memory wall where guests could leave little notes, photos, or stories shared with the bride and groom. This wall was decorated with symbolic elements of their relationship: postcards from their travels, movie tickets from their first outings together, etc.
