We viewed a couple of venues but we felt so at home here! The river is so peaceful and the buildings add a touch of class. Ester and Dominic were truly amazing as we planned it all over the phone and the food was some of the best I’ve ever tasted ! All of the guests never stopped talking about the food and how stunning the grounds were. We will always treasure our special day here ! The atmosphere is very laid back, and the place is stunning so it was the perfect place for 3 days of festivities. The weather was perfect as well so it was great to be able to swim in the big pool and really turned it into a holiday and made it that much more special - I had booked a room in the village just 2 minutes walk. The village is very pretty too, the most romantic wedding setting I have come across !I discovered Le Prieuré as a maid of honour at my cousins wedding in 2024. The atmosphere is very laid back, and the place is stunning so it was the perfect place for 3 days of festivities. The weather was perfect as well so it was great to be able to swim in the big pool and really turned it into a holiday and made it that much more special - I had booked a room in the village just 2 minutes walk. Everything was done to make the three day event stress free. We loved the accommodation and the friday aperitif. The Sunday hog roast. swimming in the pool. Boating on the river. We loved the fact that it has been a family home, it did not feel at all “corporate” as some wedding venues can. We loved being able to walk to the venue from the beautiful church in the village. The reception down by the river under the willow tree was truly special. A lot of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended. The team who run the venue were great – very communicative and everything ran smoothly on the day. We also used the property for a lunch and swimming (in the pool and the river) the day after the wedding. This was lovely as it gave our guests the chance to come back and spend time with us in a more informal setting. It was particularly good for people who had travelled over from the UK and were staying in the area for a few days. We loved everything about Le Prieuré and our wedding was everything we hoped it would be. From the aperitifs on the river bank under the fantastic trees, to the wonderful meal in the marquee, everything was idyllic and looked flawless. The wedding day itself was perfect but the drinks on the Friday evening and the poolside lunch on Sunday were also part of what made the whole weekend so memorable. All the guests were delighted with everything and said it was the nicest wedding they had attended.This was such a beautiful location for a wedding. He helped us arrange catering and offered a wealth of knowledge on the surrounding area. The venue is incredible, the grounds are beautiful and the catering was beyond our expectations. Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish, from canapés on the terrace the night before to the pool party we had the day after. Dominic and his wife were on hand to help and ask questions to. We cannot thank or recommend Le Prieure enough. Our day would not have been the same anywhere else. We booked this venue after a video walk around with the owner Dominic. It truly felt like we were getting married in a family home, which made our day feel all the more intimate and special. The grounds are stunning, and inside is just as beautiful. We were able to seamlessly pivot our plans due to the rain to have a wonderful, cosy dinner and dancing party indoors. Dominic and family were incredibly accommodating during our stay and during the planning. If you’re looking for a wedding venue with a deeply personal touch, look no further. Every wedding is special so it's not fair to pick out just one. Each event has those special moments, sometimes it's the welcome drinks on the friday when people first arrive at le Prieuré and meet up for the first time, or dancing into the small hours on the wedding night and of course our personal favourite the relaxing pool day after the wedding with a buffet lunch and sitting around chatting on the lawns playing croquet and ping pong...

If you can, Have an event over a few days so you can spend time with everyone !
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Difficult to pick out one thing as everybody has their unique style and ideas and thats what makes it interesting. People also use the space differently and choose different spots for the ceremony, in the last wedding on request of the bride and groom, we created a big circular space in the wild flower garden that is overlooked by the church and that was new and original and looked great !

The property was first established nearly 1000 years old with the main building re-constructed in 1726 some 50 years before the American Revolution
