Situated in the quaint village of Banham, one of Norfolk’s best-kept secrets Applewood Hall offers an undeniably unique wedding venue for your special day.
Once the grounds of the Grove Farm orchard, Applewood Hall served as the store during the harvest season. Now an elegantly decorated entertaining space, it offers a licensed bar, dance floor, stage and seating for up to 200 guests. Applewood Hall is a harmonious combination of rustic charm and contemporary style.
Accommodation is available onsite with six luxury-styled glamping pods providing the perfect retreat after a long night on the dancefloor. Spacious caravan and camping pitches with electric hook-up are also offered allowing you and your guests to retire to your very own patch of the countryside.
And if that wasn’t enough, Applewood Hall is located next to Banham Zoo, Norfolk's award-winning family attraction, so if you fancied something a little bit different whether it’s a giraffe feeding experience, a ceremony within the zoo grounds or photos with some of the stunning animals – anything is possible!

Firstly I’d like to thank Kiera for all her help and hard work helping us achieve our dream wedding. No question or suggestion was too big or small for her and Kiera’s wealth of experience, knowledge and endless supply of contacts was a godsend. Not only is the venue breathtaking but with everything in one place it makes the day run smoothly. We also hired 3 of the Shepherd’s Cabins for the whole weekend for our families. They are wonderful, beautifully decorated and the campsite vibe is chilled, relaxed and we all felt incredibly safe with our small children. Thank you again to all at Applewood Hall for their help and hard work on our special day.My husband I got married at Applewood Hall on the 6th July 2019. Kiera and her team are absolutely fantastic! Dawn, the food was spectacular! I have never seen such professionalism in one place. Nothing was ever too big a job and every single detail was done with the biggest smile. From the very beginning right up until the end, Kiera was there at the end of a message, email, phone to help with anything. A remarkable wedding planner, yes, but definitely now a friend too. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.My husband and I had our reception at Applewood Hall on the 10th August and just wow, wow, and wow! 5*?... More like 10*! We had the best day, everything ran so smoothly and the venue was perfect for what we needed and wanted. Kiera was very helpful in the run up to the wedding, answering any question I had big or small and offering us advice. Dawn did a fab job with the food, it was delicious and she even made us a yummy cheesecake wedding cake. The staff were all professional and helped the day run smoothly. We would highly recommend Applewood as a wedding venue and cannot thank Kiera and her team enough for making it the day we dreamed of. It’s a beautiful enclosed hall with everything you need in one space, which is brilliant if you have children. The DJ and dance floor is set out in the middle of the hall which is fantastic to get people up and dancing. The food was delicious with a good quantity for each course. I would definitely recommend Applewood Hall if you are planning your wedding, I felt it kept the whole wedding party together, kept the children in sight and safe even in the enclosed garden, the hall is already beautiful so doesn’t need much adding to it and the staff are polite and friendly and the food is really good, so if you're planning on getting married I would definitely keep Applewood Hall in mind!I recently had my wedding reception at Applewood Hall and couldn’t fault it. Located in a very unique place, it’s a completely blank canvas for any function. Fully draped and fairy lit, the venue lends its self to any vibe or decor option. Kiera and her team with the customer service finish it beautifully to make the perfect package! As a trusted venue decorator I couldn’t recommend more highly. Inside is decorated so beautifully with a neutral decor so it goes with any colour scheme. The gardens are so lovely, Kiera has done a fantastic job in making Applewood even more fantastic. Kiera was easy to talk to and helped us with all our planning and helped make the day run smoothly. The staff were helpful and friendly, I’d recommend to anyone. As a wedding supplier myself I have delivered many wedding cakes here over the past few years and find everyone friendly and helpful. Best venue for all budgets!! What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's YOUR day, so don't be afraid to be a bit selfish when it comes to things like your menu choices, drink selection and seating plans. Prefer to have canapés during your drinks reception rather than a starter, why not! If you want a big, gooey chocolate dessert, go for it! If you'd prefer to have a classic G&T rather than bubbles for the toast, do it! If you want the seating to be more informal with no seating plan, be bold! These small things will help your day feel special and unique to you.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had a lovely couple this year that had the brilliant idea of a personalised festival band to tie the napkin on each place setting, which they encouraged everyone to wear on their wrist once they'd sat down. It made everyone feel apart of their day and really worked with their outdoorsy, festival-chic vibe.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our new wedding garden! This beautifully landscaped space features a custom-built gazebo, contemporary outdoor furniture, lots of lush greenery and cottage garden flowers, grasses and herbs inspired by the British countryside. The perfect backdrop for wedding photos and alfresco arrival drinks in the sunshine!
