With the backdrop of the elegant Georgian Grade 11* listed Manor House nestling quietly amongst the extensive gardens, there is so much to explore. Within the grounds is the beautiful 18th Century Walled Garden with a picture perfect Summer House, to the front of the Manor are sweeping front lawns and boating lake with incredible views across the Bristol estuary. The estate also houses a pretty woodland area and Folly with views of the Jurassic Coast. Enjoy every moment with us, we can host both your ceremony and reception celebrations all within the grounds of Gileston Manor. Our venue offers a number of options for your ceremony, whether your dream wedding includes a church service, civil ceremony or a humanist blessing, we want every wedding, summer or winter, religious or secular to be celebrated & designed for your own style. Following your 'I Do's' smiles & laughter leads you through your confetti walk where arrival drinks await on the lawns. Photo's posed and enjoyed with magnificent views until it's time to eat cake... Under sparkling chandeliers within the Lotus marquee, food is devoured, drinks & speeches toasted, sunsets admired, moves made on the dance floor... A really great dayA really great day
We had an awesome day for our wedding at Gileston Manor! We were an early booking not long after the venue opened so we got our package for a reduced price as the venue was still under construction when we booked (but finished by the time of the wedding). Whilst we took a gamble (we also booked from Australia without having seen the venue in real life!) this definitely paid off. Sue, the wedding planner at Gileston, worked especially hard to help us pull off the wedding of our dreams and it was clear she had been working long hours to make sure what needed to be in place for the weddings was in place. The venue itself is fantastic, the gardens are amazing and as a whole it totally blew away the guests! It is really special being given the freedom to enjoy each of the different gardens and lots of guests commented on the beautiful landscaped gardens and views. The accommodation is certainly visually stunning and comfortable and what they have done with the historical buildings is really cool. You can't beat being on site the day of your wedding either. The only issue we would mention to brides and grooms considering this venue is about the sound system which is apparently set at a particular level (due to licence restrictions) and funneled into a canopy on the dance floor. This level seemed quiet to us and our guests, as well as the band, who are used to these conditions. This affected the atmosphere a bit. The most important part of the day for us was the party and the atmosphere of the evening, so if you are the same, we would recommend asking about how this works before you book, especially if you plan to have a live band, so that you can be sure it meets your expectations. It is quite possible that this has been revisited in light of weddings held this year and is no longer an issue, though. Other than that, everything was fantastic and we wouldn't have changed a thing. We think Gileston could be Wales' premier wedding destination and we wish everyone there the best of luck and want to say thanks for a wonderful weekend! One last note - our wedding was catered by Strawberry shortcake who are one of the chosen caterers at this venue and are second to none. “My husband and I got married at Gileston Manor on July 13th 2019.. it really is what every girl has ever dreamt of The wedding planners are amazing and really got to know us beforehand, they went above and beyond to make sure that our day was everything we wanted, and more...Nothing was ever too much! We kicked off our wedding weekend in pure luxury! With my nearest and dearest I spent the night before at the boutique accommodation, and prepped for a day of magic on the morning of. From saying our vows at St Giles Church, drinking cocktails & beers on the multiple luscious lawns and finished up by dancing the night away in the marquee. Our drinks & catering were chosen by a recommended caterer at Gileston itself and it was all definitely a hit with the guests! Our unique photographs we will cherish forever as the grounds are breathtaking and like no other! We had been engaged a few months prior to booking our wedding and our plan was to save for a few years. Three months later, the Manor announced they were going to be a wedding venue. My mind and heart were set before it was possible to book, we knew no other venue would come close. I can’t thank Sue enough for making my vision come true! She didn’t have to sell the venue to me as it already held such a special place in my heart, but she managed to make it even more special! Equally as special was our wedding breakfast. I honestly can’t recommend Strawberry Shortcake Catering enough, we still hear guests commenting on how amazing and different our menu was! If you do opt for them... make sure you go with empty stomaches for the tasting session and you will be in for a treat! Again, I can’t recommend booking the accommodation enough. The night before the wedding I stayed in the Coach house with my bridesmaids. There was enough space for the rest of my best friends to visit and make the evening so special. The evening of the wedding Sam and I stayed in the Apple store, and family filled the rest of the accommodation. We were made to feel at ease our whole time, Sam and I we’re nearly in tears driving away the next morning as we had been made to feel such at home! From our very first email to our wedding day the team at Gileston Manor could not have been more helpful. The whole process was so personal and nothing was too much. The venue and its surrounding grounds are BREATHTAKING and our guests were blown away by the high standards set by the venue. The wedding day itself ran so smoothly and we know this is down to the hard work from all the staff members behind the scenes. We were so relaxed and were able to enjoy not only the day but the build up to our wedding. We cant thank Sue, Wendy and Lorraine enough for making our wedding the most perfect day. We've since been back for mince pies and carols at the beautiful little church over Christmas and cant wait to return to stay and celebrate our anniversary. My husband and I got married in September 2019. We held our wedding reception and post wedding BBQ at Gileston Manor and the Bridal party stayed in the onsite accommodation for the weekend. Everything about the weekend was amazing, we were incredibly lucky with the weather and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting. The gardens were in full bloom and every single corner was picture perfect. All of our guests loved the venue and we are so grateful to Lorraine for opening up her home in such a generous and relaxed way - we really felt at home! Lorraine and her team were incredibly kind and helpful throughout the planning process. We have recommended Gileston Manor to a many of our newly engaged friends and look forward to returning as wedding guests very soon.My husband and I got married in September 2019. "Gileston Manor was everything we had dreamt of, and more. We knew our wedding was going to be set in a location of natural beauty, pure luxury and total elegance but we underestimated just how special it would be. Gileston Manor is set in the most beautiful location in the Vale of Glamorgan. With stunning grounds and the most unique Manor, we felt as though we were celebrating in the South of France; it really does have the feeling of being in the French Riviera. From day one, the wedding planners saw to our every need. From recommending the amazingly talented Strawberry Shortcake for catering, to venue decoration, to order of service and being there for us to answer any questions we had. The night before the wedding our immediate wedding party arrived at Gileston to spend the evening at the luxury accommodation, and luxury it was. It was so special being able to come together for a pre wedding BBQ on the patio, chatting, singing and dancing the night away, before heading back to the Coach House for a good nights sleep. On the Saturday we opted for a small and personal wedding in the walled garden; with 65 guests it was just perfect. Intimate, warming and decorated beautifully. We were lucky enough to have our friend sing for us during the ceremony and the sound from within the walled garden was just amazing. Our guests then went on to enjoy bubbles and cocktails with canapes in the immaculate gardens. Gileston was so accommodating, allowing us to have a live sax player in the gardens, and worked tirelessly to ensure he was well positioned in amongst the guests and the drink stations that they had set up to ensure our guests were always stood with glasses full. The beauty of this venue is that there are so many different aspects, all with something unique to offer. As if the ceremony gardens and walled gardens for the drinks and canapes weren't spectacular enough, the final part of our day was our reception which was set in the most beautiful marquee, overlooking fields and the sea. You really do get the best of all worlds when getting married at Gileston. A few special mentions. Lorraine - you really have created the most amazing wedding venue we have ever seen. Your attention to detail throughout the marquee, gardens and the luxury accommodation is like nothing we have ever witnessed before. Sue - you were an absolute star from start to finish. You really did reassure us throughout the planning process and on our special day you went above and beyond...from positioning the flowers and candles to holding up my veil. Thank you! And lastly, Strawberry Shortcake caterers. We are so glad that the team at Gileston recommended you. You were a dream to work with, creating our unique menu, and I can hand on heart say it is the only wedding I have ever been to where every guest commented on how amazing the food was and they all kept wanting more. Cheese feast table, a delicious array of cheese, chutney, breads, butter, apples, grapes etc etc. Love a bit of cheese! Or if you want something a little more hot and greasy try a hog roast!!
