Description

Our woodland wedding venue is nestled in the heart of Kentish countryside amongst an ancient woodland. Our venue has three spaces available for you to use and style according to your big day plans. We have ample, all weather parking that leads you to our glamping area. Then along our woodland pathway you reach our ceremony area available for blessings under the tree canopy. The path continues up to the reception clearing where you can eat, drink and celebrate amongst our 50ft Dutch pine trees. Our fairytale clearing includes our tree trunk sofa seating around our firepit, wishing well and tree swing. Your hire includes all three spaces as well as festoon lighting and event toilets. Our mission is for you to have the wedding day of your dreams and we will support you with this in any way we can. To ensure our couples have their bespoke day we do not operate on a package system. We do not have a set list of suppliers you have to use, although we can point you in the right direction is you wish. Carve out your love story at Longton Wood!

We had our wedding at Longton Wood in September, it was absolutely the best day of our lives! The wood was so stunning and it was so lovely to have the cover of the marquee but also be outside. We were able to choose everything ourselves and have a wedding that was personal for us. Best thing - 3 day hire! It gave us plenty of time to set-up the day before, we had the full day to ourselves on the actual day and then we had a big family brunch the day after. It was perfect, highly recommend Longton Wood to any bride who is looking for something unique and amazing!We had our wedding at Longton Wood in September, it was absolutely the best day of our lives! When we first visitied Longton Wood in September 2018 we knew it was the place for us to get married. It was always going to be a wood but after visiting others with a much more structured, formulaic approach we loved the option to do whatever we wanted and bring in all of our own suppliers. We got married at Longton Wood in July 2019 and it was the perfect place and we are extremely happy we chose it. 'We fell involve with Longton Wood at our first visit and knew it had to be our wedding venue. During the build up Jenny was great to work with in the lead up to the wedding and really helpful. We had our wedding at Longton Wood in June this year and it was a day beyond our wildest dreams! We looked at a lot of different wedding venues including woodland venues and Longton Wood is the only venue we visited that was truly in the woods as well as being the most flexible and relaxed in regards to customisable options and allowing our dog to come to our wedding too! We were so happy to find somewhere that we could customise and make truly personal to us. We were able to choose our own suppliers including our marquee, which is great as a lot of venues have restrictions on who you can use. Many of our family and friends were sceptical about a woodland wedding but all of our guests were totally amazed by the experience overall and the sheer beauty of the venue and the gorgeous permanent details such as the swing and log tables. They worked really hard in the days before our wedding to make sure everything was ready for our guests, which is no easy task given the scale of the place. It's a new venue still finding it's feet, which we had to be mindful of during the planning process but it really is something special and we are sure it will flourish and become one of Kent's premier wedding venues. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Probably my own! Does that make me biased?! We created the whole venue from a bramble patch to the space you see today so it has a special place in my heart. Having said that the more weddings we host it is getting harder and harder to choose a best. From every wedding there is an image that is breath taking from a sunset woodland walk to an incredible flower arch there are too many choose from. We are loving the clearspan marquee trend at the moment, this year we will be having this style marquee for the first time and hopefully this trend will not disappear for a while as it is gorgeous.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

During wedding set up write a to do list on a board so that those helping can see what needs to be done and can cross off each job as it’s done!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Gosh there are so many to choose from! Being blank canvas we really encourage personal touches. We love it when couples bring their pets to enjoy their celebrations. We also had a family tree with pictures and poems from the bride and grooms family hung on one of the trees in the venue. It looked great.

Unique, fairytale, rustic, enchanting,bespoke

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Hard one! Love the tall trees amongst the venue, when these are part of a backdrop is almost cathedral like, as well as the wooden door backdrop near the entrance to the reception space.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The venue itself is pretty unique, the woodland reception space is amongst the trees with the marquee lined by trees, in the style of twilight. Another unique spot are the tree trunk sofas surrounding the firepit.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our venue was created by our family for our wedding in 2016, it really was built on love! Running the venue as part of the family farming business is something we are very proud of.
