Description

We are renowned for excellent food and have two fine dining restaurants and a bar area. Awards for food quality include AA rosette awards from 2005 to present. We also have 21 en suite bedrooms individually designed and set in 17th century cottages. Our function room is ideal for intimate weddings as we can cater for a minimum of 15, and a maximum of 60 for a sit down meal. For a casual reception/evening reception we can accommodate up to 100 guests. Not only does the Black Horse Inn have many years of experience providing excellent wedding celebrations, but the licence to hold civil ceremonies also offers you the convenience of one location. We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies in either the Clifton Room or the Wellington suite and the maximum we can accommodate is 80 guests.

Wow Wow
Myself and my partner recently got married here and wow! From start to finish everything was perfect. We owe a massive thanks to Lydia and her team. Lydia is so amazing at her job, we couldn't have done it all without her! She is fantastic and a real credit! All our guests has commented on how fab the venue was, the food, rooms, courtyards etc and some have even said its the best wedding they have ever been to. If you are looking for a local wedding venue we would highly recommended the Black Horse Inn, it has everything under one roof and the staff are brilliant! We want to do it all again!! We had my wedding party here and it was just perfect, everything looked so so beautiful and was so well organised. Thank you to everyone who looked after us, Lydia you were amazing talking me through every detail and ensuring me everything was going to be ok (it was more than ok, it was magical) and on the night Phoebe was so helpful and kind. I couldn’t recommend this place more for how wonderful it is, to the food, the decor and the staff. Thank you for finishing off our wedding perfectly We had my wedding party here and it was just perfect, everything looked so so beautiful and was so well organised. After looking around for a charming pub with rooms to get married in we settled on The Black Horse. It helped that my father-in-law got married here 12 years ago and they had no complaints, we certainly didn’t either!! From booking the wedding 13 months ago the whole team were incredibly easy to deal with, especially Lydia who made everything a dream. All questions were answered and dealt with above and beyond our expectations no matter how trivial. Nothing was too much trouble. On the day we had not one complaint from ourselves nor our 78 guests. Everyone commented on how good the food was not just on the day but breakfast, lunch and dinner the night before and day after too. We can’t recommend Lydia and The Black Horse enough. We had our wedding at The Black Horse Inn in May 2018 and I can't thank them enough for the amazing service that they provided. Through time I have got used to being disappointed with the service provided when booking a service like a restaurant or hotel; the food is poor quality or the customer service isn't efficient. But The Black Horse Inn is a brilliant exception! The food was gorgeous and the customer service is of a very high level. Lydia, the Events Manager is a pleasure to work with, very organised and thorough. I would look forward to meeting her for a coffee and to discuss plans. She is full of ideas and very accommodating. Everything about our day was perfect, including the modern and cosy evening accommodation and the tasty breakfasts the next day. We had a small wedding of 45 guests and the Black Horse catered for that perfectly. The venue attracted us because of the good value for money, hotel rooms available, food and great service we received. Lydia the wedding co-ordinator took on board everything we asked for and was very helpful. It took a lot of stress away from us when their attention to details for their wedding package really helped. We had a small wedding of 45 guests and the Black Horse catered for that perfectly. We had a fantastic wedding at the black horse last weekend. We wouldn't have changed a thing, everything was spot on - the food, service, décor rooms, breakfast. Lydia who organised it was fab and prompt in responding to any queries I had. Everything was flexible and tailor made to our wedding and our wedding package we had made everything so easy too.
