After looking at loads of venues, we knew from the first bend in the driveway we had to get married at Wood Hall. We loved all of the wedding fayres, and Elizabeth, Kevin and the rest of the events team were so lovely and helpful. Everything went perfectly on the day and loads of guests commented on how good the venue and staff were. We can't thank you enough for making our day so special.We just wanted to write and let you know how grateful we are for all you did for our wedding. The dining room looked fabulous, bedrooms were gorgeous, bed very comfy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent communication, extremely helpful, obliging, patient and nothing was too much trouble. All our guests commented on how delicious the food was too. Must say that we had some reservations about how it would all work out at the ”no guests” ceremony but delighted to find that the whole day was a complete success. We didn’t really have enough time to fully explore the hotel facilities but enjoyed the suite and various meals included in the package. Everybody who looked after us was friendly, polite and a credit to the hotel. We have already been asked for information about this somewhat unusual wedding package and hopefully your hard work will result in future bookings. At some point, we intend coming back for a meal or short stay. The hotel, food and staff were fantastic, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and making our day so special and enjoyable. The food and service at the wedding breakfast was superb and was commented on by many of the guests. Everybody had an amazing time and we couldn't have wished for a better day (except for the weather but even that didn't dampen spirits!) A special thank you must go to Kevin and Martin who did a fantastic job (Martin even managed to provide the daffodils!) Sophie and Scott both said they couldn't have had a better day, so thank you for everything you did in organising that, we all appreciate it very much. We would have no hesitation in recommending Wood Hall as a wedding venue, in fact we did, to someone who was being shown round on the Monday morning. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
A wedding couple let me in on a top secret for their wedding day, which involved me having to arrange for all the guests to be waiting at the end of our driveway as they had been told the Bride and Groom would be arriving in a pink Cadillac and wanted everyone to great them. The surprise was actually that they arrived by helicopter and landed on our large meadow in front of the hotel, the guests were surprised and delighted and it was memorable start to the day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember to keep it fun, it's easy to get caught up in the planning but remember this is going to be the happiest day of your life.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I will always remember a couple who married in late Autumn who were both from a farming background and the way they incorporated this gave such a personal touch on their wedding day. They had a rustic theme using milk churns with flowers as centre pieces and a personalised pallet from their farm used as a table plan.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Just as you turn the corner onto our drive you can capture a beautiful shot with the hotel in the distant with our vast meadows and grounds in view.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Absolutely, but we can't tell you who. A little bit of searching in Hello magazine would reveal.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our Yorkshire specials including Mini Yorkshire Puddings or Mini Yorkshire beef burgers
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Bacon Rolls are always a good way to end the night, perfect in our Oak Room bar with a night cap!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our views over the Wharfe valley provide the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our Award winning wedding co-ordinator's spend a great deal of time to get to know our couples which helps us plan 'your' day.
