Our newly-restored Walled Garden can host your wedding ceremony, whilst our lawns make the perfect spot for a traditional marquee. In an elevated position, the Castle commands magnificent panoramic views of the gloriously beautiful Sussex countryside.
Our newly restored Carriage Barn sits in its Well Courtyard and offers a fabulous ceremony or dining space in addition to the Castle and is included in the Castle exclusive hire during the summer months. During the Winter months the Carriage Barn is available on a separate exclusive hire basis.

From the very first day that I met you Sue, I felt so happy and content that Wadhurst Castle was the right place for us to tie the knot and I wasn’t wrong! You allowed us to see our vision through and was so accommodating in making it happen, I just can’t thank you enough!! Clare, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you at our final details meeting and as soon as we both realised we had cocker spaniels that was it...I honestly can’t thank you enough for dressing the venue so beautifully, looking after Coco and ensuring the day run smoothly! As you both know Jonny and I are both pretty laid back but you allowed us to be on our special day, we didn’t feel stressed or worried about anything but that is down to you for making everything so amazing!!! - GGemma and Daniel07/07/2020No other venue came close!No other venue came close!Wadhurst Castle was the second venue we looked at and we instantly fell in love with it and all the decadent English charm and picturesque views it brought with it. We had 6 other viewings booked at different venues however over the next week, so we decided to do those anyway. To make sure we had ticked all our options. We had originally wanted an outdoor, barn themed wedding so a castle was a big step away from this! Even after seeing all the other venues we couldn’t help but keep comparing them to Wadhurst and none of them even came close. It was final, Wadhurst had won over our hearts and really was love at first sight for us. Who couldn’t help but fall in love with the sprawling green lawns overlooking the sheep, the beautiful rose gardens, convenient walled ceremony area and the amazing and historic interiors. It was everything we wanted in a venue, and the lovely Venue Manager Susan, was an extra added bonus for us and truly a wedding saviour and guru for us! We have both always had a love for castles and history. So we seize every opportunity and trip away as an occasion to visit a new castle. Getting married in a castle is truly us. We all agree we had the most wonderful day... everything went so smoothly and even the sun shone for us enabling the ceremony to take place in the walled garden which was Amy’s wish. Your help with all the finer details... positioning of flowers on lapels, order of entrance into walled garden, setting out all the accessories and so much more was greatly appreciated. From the day we first viewed Wadhurst Castle we knew it was right for us and so perfect in every way... the Castle itself has an amazing warm and homely feel and the views and gardens are stunning! We have had so many compliments about our special day from family and friends and are still chatting about the events of the day and enjoying the treasured memories and photographs. We really appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make such an event so successful. - PPavan and Ian07/07/2020Our perfect day!Our perfect day!As you know, from the first moment that I visited the Castle back in October, I immediately fell in love with it and on the day it looked absolutely stunning – I know it is a cliché but it really was our perfect day and we would not have changed a single thing. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the Castle and gardens were and everything as you suggested went perfectly and with no issues at all, to the quick move indoors when the rain arrived to our tables, flowers and the décor. I wanted to personally thank you also for being there throughout the whole process and answering all our questions and even those last minute panics I had, putting them all at rest, and helping me just before I went into the room. All of our recommendations, from the music to our wedding stationary were absolutely perfect and thank you for also making sure that Ian and I managed to get those precious moments alone too. The whole day went perfectly and neither of us can find any faults with anything. From the initial visit we knew it was the right venue for us as it is so intimate but not too small. It has a genuine castle feel without the huge hollowness of those really large castles but more with an atmosphere of class, coziness and the potential to make it your very own for the day. The grounds absolutely captivated us from the word go. It’s the classic English country garden, with so many little areas and corners where flowers are beautifully displayed. Above all, the venue manager Susan was at the core of it all and she was spectacular in the way she helped to bring all our plans together. On the day she was amazing and there is no way we would have had such a perfect day if she was not there coordinating everything in such a friendly and calm manner. We had our wedding outside in the walled garden with the capri tent. It was magical... not to mention the reception, the meal and then the party later that evening which were perfect in every way. I don’t think we could have matched this event in a hotel set up as it just felt so private and almost like it was our castle for the day. The party was awesome and no-one wanted to go home at the end of the night. We were receiving texts and comments for weeks after saying what a fab time people had. - JJames & Christina13/11/2018Stunning location in a castleStunning location in a castleEvery girls dream is to marry her prince in a castle- and Wadhurst castle is absolutely stunning especially in the Spring/Summer when all the flowers are in bloom! The venue hire includes a wedding co-ordinator and Claire is absolutely lovely and does all she can to help you! Hire price very reasonable for the location and you get the whole castle to yourself as opposed to sharing with other hotel guests so it is very private. The only downside is that there is no accommodation for the bride and groom or the guests inside the castle as it is a private residence. (There are some cottages nearby but the minimum hire is weekly which didn't work for us, we all stayed in Tunbridge Wells, a 15min drive away). There are some castle rules which you need to be aware of e.g. no red wine except at the main meal etcEvery girls dream is to marry her prince in a castle- and Wadhurst castle is absolutely stunning especially in the Spring/Summer when all the flowers are in bloom!
